The boot volume state is ONLINE: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An attempt was made to correct the error. Applications are unaffected.

Hello

i have a question about share access, how to do it the right way.

share_Data

user | group
a |  home
b |  home

user a should have read write access
all group home user should have read access

how to do it ?
user a should also have access to other shares too

Thanks for a hint how to manage it the easy way

Hello
did somebody try to create in FreeNAS a VM and install Proxmox to it?
Would there be a problem to create inside Proxmox a VM if Proxmox is also in a VM?

hello
i have created a AFP Share for Time Maschine - this worked fine so far. my Macbook is backing up.
when i wished to add the quota for the Storage i went to the Volume and can't find the AFP Backup share.
But i also can't create it because there is allready one.
so how to find the share on my Storage?

Followed the steps from the below youtube video and it just sits at this screen. My specs are in the sig. ISO was downloaded using the Windows Media Creation Tool.

Currently I have a little 8 bay NAS, single pool RAID-Z2 with 4TB drives but I've come to the realisation that I've kinda got no expandability aside from buying all new bigger and far more expensive drives so I'm thinking about changing to a proper rackmount set up early next year. I'll also be putting another computer, UPS & networking stuff in the rack so in the long run it'll be worth the money.

I want to keep as much of my current build as I can but I understand I'll probably need /...

I just applied the FreeNAS update which upgraded the base OS to FreeBSD 11.1 and now I am receiving a kernel panic when trying to boot.

Hi,

I've started completing the hardware for my (ESXi) FreeNAS setup and I had some problems (and regrets) already.
I wanted to ask those of you who also have Kaby Lake setup if you also experience such issues.

I've bought:
- Supermicro X11SSH-LN4F
- E3-1245v6 (stock cooler)
- 1x Samsung DDR4 16GB 2400GB CL17 (M391A2K43BB1-CRC)

I've put those into Lian-Li case with Corsair 750W psu.
I've updated mobo bios to the newest: R 2.0c
I've updated mobo IPMI firmware to the newest: R...

Hallo,


habe FreeNAS 11 u4 neu aufgesetzt vor 5 Wochen.
Dann meine ZFS Volumes gemounted, nen SMB Share angelegt und locker vom PC drauf zugegriffen.

Jetzt wollte ich gestern wiedermal Daten rüberschaufeln, aber ich durfte nicht. Keine Schreibrechte.
-Habe die Rechte gecheckt, alles okay, habe ja nichts geändert.
-Reboot des Servers, keine Besserung
-Neuen Nutzer angelegt und volle Rechte gegeben, keine Besserung
-Rechte geändert auf der Gruppe und Sie neu Vererben lassen, keine Besserung....

I think the S3 target powered by Minio is absolutely fantastic and I am starting to build S3 cloud storage services with it. I know that Minio has a commercial license for their version but what about the FreeNAS version?

Is there a capacity limit I can use with the Minio S3 target? Is there a commercial fee/license/subscription to use the Minio S3 target in production?

I am hoping to get some replies. Thank you in advance.

I want to clean up my boot environments. When deleting the oldest one. I got the following error message.

Hello FreeNAS world! Folks, I'm super brand new to the FreeNAS product. I'm currently trying very hard to replace local storage of my videos and photos from my laptop onto a NAS. FreeNAS sounds wonderful with all it's functionality and I'm excited to use it! I realize that there is a Plex plugin for FreeNAS but is that really like an iPhoto app to manage media? I think that is more for offering up media to share. What I need is a tool that will allow me to organize all my photos and videos....

Hi guys, I'm having some issues with getting VM's to work on my machine. I've followed the steps here https://doc.freenas.org/11/vms.html, and also watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjMIgkC5REM video just to make sure I was doing it right.

Basically I set up the VM and when I hit start, I receive a successful flash message but the status of the VM is still stopped. The config of the VM pretty straightforward

• UEFI (tried both)
• 1 virtual CPU...

I'd like to pin the virtual cpus to certain host cpus for a VM. How do I do that?

I see there's the "-p" argument for bhyve, but how do I run it without interfering with the configuration set in the GUI?

I see this warning as CRITICAL since today.
If I run zpool status I get the following answers:

Now I have my FreeNAS box pretty much setup, I want to be able to access it remotely in a secure manner.
Currently I am running: Nextcloud, Plex, Plexpy, Sabnzbd, Sonarr, Radarr, Headphones, NzbHydra, Jackett & Organizr as generic jails.

My idea is to setup a secure VPN connection using Pfsense. I have no experience using Pfsense whatsoever, so any advice is highly appreciated!

My current Nas setup:
OS: FreeNAS 11.0-U4
CPU: Intel Celeron G3920 Boxed
MOBO: Gigabyte...
