Nextcloud plugin install - manual mysql 5.7 to 8.0 upgrade possible?

I have Nextcloud installed as a plugin. I am at version 21.0.9 which i did from within the NC GUI which works fine after the necessary tuning however NC gives me the option to upgrade to 22.2.8 but i fear doing that will get me into trouble because my mysql db is still at 5.7.33-log.

I don't want to update the plugin to the newest version from within TN as it gives me troubles with the built in certificate which i tried before and was not a success so rather than to start from scratch with...
