qBittorrent download but no upload/seed

Good Morning

So I have my Wireless Router manually configured with OpenVPN (ExpressVPN) and so anything on that network automatically is on VPN, need no firewalls etc. Using qBT on Windows 10.0.2.101) I have 0 issues download and uploading.
After installing TrueNAS (10.0.2.102) and then qBT (10.0.2.103) through TrueNAS, I can download but it does not even consider seeding. I have looked up what I can but can not find others with same issue so not sure where to focus. It is not the Windows...

It is the first I am posting, but I am following the Truenas Scale development anf I have it installed on my HP Microserver Gen 8.
Thank you for this new project of Truenas Scale. It is in Alpha phase but am realy enjoying it and have a huge potential with debian base. With the scale I chenged fron Unraid to Truenas Scale. The applications on Truenas Core are very outdate and are very difficult to setup.

New install on older Dell PC - Cannot see network or ping any addresses

I have a PC that I am installing TrueNAS on. I can get all the way through the install and once I'm at the home screen, I manually configure my IP, but cannot communicate to anything on the network.

(while in) TrueNAS:
I manually assign the IP, the Def GW and the DNS.
I cannot ping even the GW/Router
I cannot get an address via DHCP

What I've tried:
Reinstalled OS multiple times
New Switchport
New Cable
DHCP and Manual configs
The IP Address stores correctly, the NIC is...

New install on older Dell PC - Cannot see network or ping any addresses

Fairly new to this OS, only for about 6 months on a built Poweredge R420, and been browsing thru the forum to find something that matches my situation. efifb causes top 1/3 of screen to be garbled

Hi All,

I am running TrueNAS Core 12.0-U2.1 on a Lenovo T420 laptop(UEFI mode only) with 16gb of RAM and one disk for a demo. The laptop works fine but the boot process shows the top 1/3 of the screen gabled.

From where the boot menu is for the boot loader till the VT loads the i915 driver I have garbage on the top 1/3 of the screen. I had to use this tunable to get the console to be usable : rc. conf kld_list="i915kms"

I still would like to see the screen during the boot proces...

BluRay Drive?

I have a Bluray drive on my old computer running TruNAS, is there any way of using the Bluray drive? I would normally move the Bluray drive to the new computer but it doesn't have any way of installing the Bluray drive, since it only had 3.5 and 2.5 mounting points and they are vertical inside the case, unlike my old computer. I really don't want to buy an external case for the Bluray drive.

With Windows, I would just share the drive but in TruNAS, I can't find an option.

SMB Share - Network Path Not Found

I am having an issue accessing my SMB share on my TrueNAS server. First, I have not had a problem accessing my smb share for many years. This has just appeared.

Of course, Windows is always updating and I do keep my TrueNAS up to date as well. I don't know that it has anything to do with that.

I am running TrueNAS-12.0-U2. I am now unable to access the share over the network (I get network path not found - 0x80070035 error).

I am able to access the shares of my other Win10 computers...

I installed TureNAS. Created a user with read/write allowance and created a Samba Share. Still I get permission deniend when I try to copy something to the NAS. Do I have something forgotten?

11.3 - Netdata Plugin and network chart

I'm thrilled to see that a community plugin for Netdata has been created for use in 11.3! Installed it and it works great. However, it appears that the network charts won't work because it's monitoring the jail interface and not the lagg or other interfaces on the FreeNAS server itself. Is there any way for me to fix that? Is this something that might be fixed in a future update?

How take auto backup of config with password export

Hi,

I have looked at this long thread but still a little confused...
I can take my configs backup by simply going to the GUI (System -> General) and then Save config backup... tick the box for password seed and that's it.
I want to do it automatically. Maybe using a cronjob.
What's the easiest way to do it?

How to add extra zvol to vm?

Hi,

need some help. How to add one extra disk to a vm in truenas?

what I did:
added a ssd
created a zvol on that ssd
added the zvol to the vm - Ubuntu based -
rebooted vm
fdisk -l shows just one disk, the boot disk

so - my question: how to add an extra plain disk to a vm under truenas?

background: i detect running certain software like nzbget directly on nfs causes performance impacts, so I would prefer running cache / temp disks on ‘local‘ disks.

makes sense?

PRTG, ZPools and SNMP

Has anyone managed to get PRTG working with TrueNAS, monitoring the ZPool Status. I can get disk temp, throughput etc, but to be honest the only things I really care about are is the server there and Zpool Status.
Obviously if a disk goes bad I get email about it - but it would be nice to have it on PRTG.
I have imported the MIB's, tried just the one and then all of them - but I am reaching the levels of my knowledge here

What is the best way to setup a share for windows only?

I'm new to truenas and I'd like to setup a new share that's only going to be used with window's machine's. I currently have a SMB share, but I need to login every time I want to access it, also when transferring large folders ~150GB of data it keeps saying it cant find a sub directory on the server then when I wait a minute and retry it can find it. My hardware is the following:
2 x Xeon E5-2660
1 x 8gb ECC/REG ddr3 memory
4 x 1TB WD velociraptor
and I'm, using the onboard 1GB NIC.

I can't change the webdav file name

Hello! configured Webdev everything almost works as it should! but, I can't change the file name, and I can't edit the data inside the document. It turns out that the permission is only for creating, deleting, transferring files, and that's it(

The error when renaming is as follows
