I noticed my clock was off; turns out ntpd isn't able to connect.
I can't find *any* NTP config in FreeNAS, so I don't see that I could have altered it stupidly, and it's been working for years.
Clearly it's NOT able to reach the servers:

Given that ECC functionality depends on several components working well together (e.g. cpu, mobo, mem) there are many things that can go wrong resulting in a user detectable lack of ECC support.
However, it's also far too easy to get a false positive for ECC functionality. This might well mean that a large percentage of all the ECC 'enabled' systems in the industry are actually not, either DOA or over time.

Hi,
Been having some strange problems with my TrueNAS. In the alerts, i get the "Certificate 'freenas_default' has expired." error. When i check the certificates, i see that the current certificate is from 2013 and lasts to 2015. I have no clue to why the certificate is a couple of years old. Is there any
easy way of renewing it or replace it?

I am planing on making a cheap nas using trueNas, I was wondering if the drives format when making a pool, because I have the information in a drive and I was wanting to use it in the nas, but it has all the information in there. Also what would you suggest would make a higher impact on performance if I want to use it a storage nas and as a plex server.

I have tested some other software like OMV to see if I can benefit from them. Which unfortunately was not the case at all.
Now I would like to have a little more performance in my NAS (server).
Hardware:
Mobo:X570D4u-2l2t
Ram: ECC Ram Kingston 64GB soon to be upgraded to 128GB
4x8TB Ironwolfs
1x 500GB Firecuda 520 System
1x1000GB Firecuta 520 VM/Backups
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700X
I always had a pool RaidZ1 configured.... so 3 data and 1 parity, unfortunately the performance was not...

Posting here wondering if anyone else has seen this or if anyone has been able to make this work in a similar setup.
Local system is Mini-2.0 running TrueNAS-12.0-U6.1
Remote is Mini-3.0-XL+ running TrueNAS-SCALE-22.02-RC.1-2
Sending a snapshot under 1T works fine. Sending the one that is 1.91T breaks at 1.01T

I'm not sure when did it happened, but i found out today that the streaming speed from my NAS to my home media is lagging and almost choking.
I did the upgrade to TrueNAS-12.0-U3.1 five days ago. So i went into the Truenas admin console, i noticed that there is this 'promiscuous mode enabled', i don't remember seeing this in the previous releases, does this has any effect to my sudden network speed drops?

I have a 4 x 6TB raid z1 pool. It stores my backups. Getting low on space and have another 4 x 6 TB to add to it. What's the best way to add the new drives and at minimum double the storage capacity?

I am unable to create a pool consisting of a single SSD to use for VMs in Scale.
I have tried deleting partitions using fdisk as suggested here:
Unable to Create Stripe Pool with One NVMe AIC
I see this is an error that is known but haven't been able to find a solution to get it working.
Attached below is the error modal I get as well as the contents of it. I am getting the same error as I did before running fdisk, deleting both partitions and writing the changes to the disk...

Hi. I'm having a problem making a secure connection (HTTPS) from a public DNS to a locally installed Nextcloud plugin (version 23.0.0). I'm using Nginx Proxy Manager 2.9.12 with Portainer inside an Ubuntu VM. The Ubuntu VM is hosted on TrueNAS.
Ports 80 and 443 are opened in my router. I know NPM is working with another public DNS record (somesubdomainname.duckdns.org). Unfortunately I can't create a new subdomain with duckdns because of this error:

I was having issues with the plex media server plugin service dying after 20 minutes of runtime, so I created a new jail running 12.3 with default settings and manually installed PMS. On the plugin version the service in the jail would stop and throw errors if I tried to restart the service itself, the only way to restart it was to restart the plugin/jail. I'm new to TrueNAS Scale. I got my first install done last weekend and it went pretty smoothly I thought. I was able to get pools, datasets and shares going and even had successfully copied a few gigs of test data around. Occasionally I saw some weird Samba behavior from my Mac when trying to use the shares on TrueNAS. It seems like there are lot of guides here on installing Nextcloud, and a number of people reporting problems with many of them. So, I figured, why not write another one? The difference between this method and the others is that this method employs a script to create the jail, install all the relevant packages, and configure them. My thought/hope is that by scripting the installation and setup, a lot of the PEBCAK-type errors that come up in such a complex installation can be avoided...

Hi there!
Im pretty new to all the server things. I’m currently running a TrueNAS server, for Nextcloud. It runs perfectly. Till today… I use Nextcloud for my company, so it is really essential.
I tried to update Nextcloud via the GUI. It worked, but now it keeps updating. When I go to the IP it said a update in process. And when I go to /updater it saids something with step 6.
How can I fix this?

Home assistant from Truecharts runs great but it is the Core version lacking the ability to have Add-ons and Supervisor. I have been looking for a solid week trying to find a write up or anything on how to install it and none of the writeups are valid anymore. An add-on to get cheap Temp sensors I can't use. Any help would be appreciated even if it means I need to create a VM to run it.
