Hello, this has been solved many times, but nothing has helped yet.
I have a fresh install of FreeNAS on my server (working on VmWare). Everything is a clean installation. I installed PlexMediaServer on FreeNAS. Plugin is running and received IP address from DHCP. I can see this IP address on my Unifi USG (SecureGateway) online but I can not access the web interface. If I send ping to the IP address, it will not respond. The firewall is off on VmWare. Unifi USG does not block communication...

Ну ни как не хочет запускаться без предупреждений в логах. Кто-нибудь может объяснить что ему не нравится?

I've just setup a new machine with FreeNAS 11.1 32bit (hehe, just kidding) and I see by default the root dataset has atime enabled.

My question is: what might break if I disable atime there? I'm going to create child datasets for different shares/users anyway and frankly I'm not going to enable atime on any of them.

P.S. "Array1", "Array2", etc. are not reserved names, are they?

написал IP 192.168.1.33 и маску 255,255,255,0 и в шлюзе указал ip маршрутизатора 192,168,1,1, потом захожу в браузер и пишу 192.168.1.33 и ничего, в чем проблема? На серваке (ПКшник) лампочка возле порта ethernet не горит, а если ПК перезагрузить, то она загорится на время загрузки системы, а потом опять тухнет когда выходит меню, помогите с утра вообще первый раз узнал что такое FreeNAS, а теперь уже должен настроить его.

Hi all,

I'm planning the storage extension of my FreeNAS (11.0.U2) running on my 36bay Supermicro Server. I've got one pool (83% full) which consists of two vdevs (10 x 4TB RAIDZ2).

I'm considering one of two options:

- adding one vdev to existing pool (10 x min. 8TB RAIDZ2) or
- create new pool with one vdev as above

Any ideas/input would be highly appreciated, do you see any pros/cons from one option to the other? Any other (maybe completely different) vdev/pool-design?

i have created a AFP Share for Time Maschine - this worked fine so far. my Macbook is backing up.
when i wished to add the quota for the Storage i went to the Volume and can't find the AFP Backup share.
But i also can't create it because there is allready one.
so how to find the share on my Storage?

Hallo zusammen

jupihee mein FreeNas Daten Server läuft....Nun möchte ich unser WD MyCloud durch den FreeNas Server ersetzen. Was mir zum perfekten Glück noch fehlt ist ein Fernzugriff für PC und Handy (alles Windows Pc's und Android Handys)
Ein Dyn DNS Dienst habe ich bereits bei no-ip eingerichtet und sollte theroretisch soweit funktionieren.

Nun meine Frage, was ist Sinnvoll (FTP, Http??) und wie muss ich dabei vorgehen? Welche Ports muss ich für die Portweiterleitung im Router...

At this moment I am running FreeNAS (11.0-U3 Stable) as a fileserver and as backup for a couple of workstations. No Jails or VM's. The hardware I am running it on is more than capable of doing that job:

SuperMicro X10SL7-F - On board SAS2 controller flashed to IT Mode
Edit: Intel Core i3-4130T Intel Xeon E3-1225 v3

2 x 8 GB Samsung ECC M391 B1G73QHO-YKO
Edit: Added 2 x 8 GB Crucial EUDIMM 102472BD1160B

Boot: SSD 60 GB Corsair

Edit: Added Intel S3700 200 GB SSD

today I received a alert from my NAS because a one Disk has errors. But why is the disk online and I can't see more informations about this errors.
Volume (zpool) has status - healthy and all drives are online

Hello,

After updating to FreeNAS-11-MASTER-201712140629 I am getting [Errno 61] Connection refused and I am not able to connect to my storage and the beta login does not work. I am only able to login to the old ui. One other thing I cannot shutdown, reboot, or do anything else without getting [Errno 61] Connection refused - everything was working fine before I updated.

This is what I see on the information screen:- hope someone can help

Ich hoffe das mir hier schnell geholfen werden kann. Für antworten schon mal im voraus vielen Dank.

Mein Problem gestaltet sich wie folgt:

Ich habe Daten in einem Stripe Array über einige Festplatten liegen.
Diese Daten in verschiedenen Datasets sollten über Rsync auf die 8 TB Archiv Platte kommen.

Aktuell habe ich für jedes Dataset das ich sichern will (jails hat mir schon mal die Archiv Platte voll laufen...

Hello,

I use a jail on freenas 11.1-STABLE for home automation (home-assistant)

I have 2 serial usb device used on this jail and i'm having problem with naming.

This two device are named /dev/cuaU[0-1] but i'm not able to persist the name between restart or disconnect of the device.

I tried to investigate devd rules and it work nicely in the freenas system.

in file /dev/devd/zstick.conf

Why is FreeNAS so hard to install?

I have 4 devices (1 Mac) in my home and I've created USBs on every one of them, no matter which machine I boot the USB from I get errors. Not just trying to install 11.1 but 11.0 and 9.3 as well. Luckily my Macbook is a 2010 model with a Superdrive and finally got to install (currently 30% on base package 1 *crosses fingers*).

Why is it so hard to install? I like it so much that I wanna make it work but it is a pain in the dickens to install/upgrade.

Hi there. I'm a bio guy, so a lot of this is super new to me. Mainly signed up because of the 11.1 upgrade causing some craziness, but the posts have provided a TON of help getting me set up. Now I'm biting myself for not doing enough for a complete rollback before upgrade. Live and Learn and build redundant backup system for the sole purpose of upgrading my production box. Got it.
