Hi,
After updated freenas from 9.X  to 11.1 U6 with the graphic update tool.
I received a message about the hard drive have a problem.

"The boot volume state is ONLINE: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data corruption. Applications may be affected."

OK, I make my home work and read on the forum tread about disk failure, I found the disk : it was the one where freenas was install.

after :  zpool status -xv:

I am wondering what is the procedure to create a working plugin for OwnCloud, since it doesn't seem to be available in FreeNAS 11.2 stable. Just for kicks, I tried installing NextCloud plugin, but it seems to be broken. I am getting a "Too many redirects" error. Error occurs in Chrome, Firefox, and IE/Edge on PC, and on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on macOS High Sierra.

I can create an admin account just fine, but once initialized, it no longer works. If I clean my history and cookies, I can...

OK, Im trying to do two things here. Plex has a file called the "Webtools Bundle" which gives access to a list of usable extras when added to the Plugins folder of the Plex Database folder which is stored here:

usr/local/plexdata-plexpass/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins.

I have to place the webtools folder in this...

Due to the Intel 1219-V (ethernet) issue I cannot install any stable 11.1. So I am forced to use 11.2 and currently testing out the nightlies so that I can test my system and the latest version. I wanted to at least read thru any issues people are having before I installed it.  

Where can I find the discussion regarding 11.2 nightlies?

Hello everyone. I have a workstation machine running Debian stretch with 24 GB of RAM + 8TB WD Red with an exact setup in another city (at my parents home) and they mirror each other with a nightly rsync script. I'm running out of storage (83% occupied). I've decided to give FreeNAS a shot and bought two more 8TB WD Reds. My goal is to setup the three 8TB WD Reds as RAID5/RAIDZ.

My question is how to migrate from my occupied drive to the RAIDZ setup. Is it possible to setup the two empty...

I searched (and perhaps poorly) but didn't find anything on this.  My current build (Haswell Xeon) shows CPU temps without issue.  My upgrade (Threadripper 1950X) build doesn't show any CPU temperatures at all.

Running 11.1 update 6.  I tried looking through release notes but they don't mention Ryzen/Threadripper and temperature sensors together anywhere.  Is something not working properly or is this expected?

Hey everyone,

Before I start out, system info:

Build 11.1-U5
i3-4130T
16GB ECC RAM
ASROCK E3C226D2I Mobo
6x WD Red 3TB drives (well, one is now a 4TB, but I'll get to that) set up as 3 mirrored vDevs all in one large zpool.


Been running more or less problem-free since 2014 (weekly scrubs and regular short smart tests), until now.

Okay, here goes...


So, last week I started getting CRITICAL alert e-mails from my box. Started checking it out and I was getting pending unreadable sectors....

How screwed am I? Or where do I go from here?

How do I get FreeNAS GUI to continue incremental zfs replications after moving a data set to a new server?  The GUI wants to start from the beginning and resend the entire dataset.
Perhaps there is a file somewhere that has the most recent snapshot sent that I can manually edit?

Scenario:
old_server, new_server, and backup_server all all FreeNAS 11.1 U6 servers.

I have moved some datasets from old_server to new_server, with the intention of uninstalling FreeNAS from old_server.

Hello all,
I recently set up a new FreeNAS server and put version 11.2 Beta3 on it.  I set up a Plex jail through the plugins install and am having a problem with getting it to download metadata.

I saw this thread:

Which sounded like the same problem, however the solution stated there is not the problem I'm having.  On that thread it was stated that they had tried to mount a Media folder...

I been wondering around the forum, looking for info on the ARC hit ratios, but have not found what I am looking for...
I am getting the following reports, but I am uncertain if this means that I should install more RAM?

Folks,

I'm planning to upgrade my switch and get one with four 10Gb ports. I only have two servers and one workstation that I'd need the 10Gb speed.

Below some info/brainstorming:

• The servers are on the same rack and the switch 8 ft away.
• The servers have X9DRi-LN4F+ motherboard with four 1Gb interfaces
• All on ESXi VMs, included FreeNAS
• The 1Gb ports would continue been used as 1Gb for all VMs but FreeNAS
• Install one 10Gb NIC on each server and my workstation
• Pass...

We've had a number of people over the years bring up the topic of multiple network interfaces on a single subnet.

Often done by Windows administrators or storage admins, where it works to varying degrees, this is sadly not proper IP networking practice.

I've had to re-install FreeNAS (11.1U6) on a new USB flash drive in attempt to restore my FreeNAS installation (original USB boot drive failed), but after successful install I restart and upon first boot I keep getting the errors below and FreeNAS booting stalls (da12 is the USB boot drive). I've tried re-installing on 3 to 5 new and known working USB flash drives and they all produce these errors. Any ideas why this keeps happening and how to resolve?

Setup is Supermicro X8DTL-i mobo, XEON...

My original plan was to just let FreeNAS handle storage, and have my media server run Plex/Sab/Sonarr/et al. but I've realized it's not quite as simple as all that.

If Sonarr, Radarr & Sabnzbd are running on a separate machine, do I set up local destination folders, and then have files moved over to the NAS during post-processing?

Or is it better to have them download directly to folders on the NAS, which would avoid an unnecessary transfer over the local network -- but would require...

Hi,
I need your help to understand how to restore my files from zfs missing device error,
I have the freenas load from USB version 9.3 with
3 SATA 4T (WD)
1 SSD 250gg
Since I got a Unretryable error on boot I try to reinstall a new version on USB, but my mistake I did it on the SSD drive.
After I did install on USB  and upload my config files I got below error.
CRITICAL: The volume datastore (ZFS) state is UNKNOWN
Not sure what was my ZFS configuration and if the SSD(may be cache ) was...

Hey all, trying to find a tutorial or some help in moving my plex metadata folder out of the jail and over to a a fresh 500GB SSD.  I've seen an option on plex>settings>server>advanced but don't currently have that option available when on plex web interface. Im running a NAS killer 2.0 build with freenas 11.6, TIA

Sorry for the general question there and it may be more of an Off-Topic question but my NAS if a FreeNAS system (11.1 U5)...  I have been having problems with my NFS shares: I can only read/execute.  I can no longer write or modify anything. This has only been going on for about 2/3 weeks now. The nfs shares had been working fine over the last 2 months since I started using NFS instead of CIFS.  It seems that all my systems are affected. I am not running nfs on my one, seldom used, windows 7...
