Hi all,

there are so many bug tickets open about the graphs and reporting, I'm a bit reluctant to open yet another one. Is this a common problem or just my system? CPU consistently shows 0% in the dashboard, detailled reporting shows load and temperatures fine but the topmost graph labelled just "CPU" is an empty rectangle - not even scales ...

Hello,

I am using FreeNAS 9.10 Stable operating system. I want to transfer files from the operating system that I use to the QNAP device. How can I do it?

After a lot of messing around I have SMB and OpenLDAP authentication working, I had to add a CA cert for Letsencrypt.

Do you have to really set up Kerberos now for this to work? I really don't need or want Kerberos.

However no matter what I do I'm not able to get AFP authentication working.

I have a mix of OS types (Windows, Apple, Linux) and I'm trying to understand how I should structure the permissions correctly for devices to use the SMB shares. I setup my users on my NAS and gave them the appropriate rights and setup SMB shares using Unix permissions. Hi,

Still progressing through my new FreeNAS build, and trying to finalise my backup strategy. My basic plan is to backup to a pair of external backup drives (USB): one will be connected to my FreeNAS and the other will be stored at an offsite location, rotating every fortnight / month. While not essential, I'd really like to be able to read the backup drive on a low end Windows machine at the offsite location (my office).

I've checked the current issues jira and searched on here as well without finding anything but has anyone got these two to work together?

They both seem to work OK in isolation but if I enable them together then ixnas appears to jump in before shadow_copy_zfs can translate the snapshot request to a ZFS snapshot directory and I get the following error along with no previous versions returned.

Hi all,

last four years i am using FreeNas as File server(SMB) & Media server(Plex) with almost no issues.
Because i am new in linux and NAS systems, my first instalation was not bad, but not good as i want .

I decided to make a new instalation according to best practices, etc.
I would like to do it withou any "service loosing" i mean, during the reinstalation all home members be able to using Plex & Shares.

Hello. until recently I was running just one 8TB drive in my NAS.

A couple of days I bought 4x 10TB drives. They passed their long SMART tests today so I configured them in an encrypted stripe of mirrors and I have been trying to copy all of the data from my old drive to the new volume.

When trying to use my FreeNAS which holds my FCPX libraries with FCPX on MacOS over a smb:// share I get:

I heard that FCPX will work with Libraries on network shares if the share is fast enough. I have a wired gigabit connection here. Is there something I am missing??

Hi Guys,

So yesterday I moved all my VMs from a rubbish SAN over to FreeNAS, however, I've noticed that ESXi is showing that I've used 5TB of data where FreeNAS is showing 500GB data used.

I know that compression is enabled on the Zpool however, I didn't expect it to be as good as 10x compression rate. De-dup is not enabled on the pool as far as I'm aware.

I don't know if there's an issue with FreeNAS and data might be lost or if this is expected? I've attached screenshots below.

Hi All,

I might be being blind and/or stupid as I haven't spent much time in the new UI but having a play with it now and I can't seem to find 'System Time'. In the old UI it was within the 'System' tab. Any ideas?

I'm running FreeNAS 11 on a homebuilt PC. I have a new-style (iocage) jail running Madsonic. I recently updated freenas to 11.1.U4, and when freenas rebooted, my madsonic jail wasn't started. I also noticed that the "Jails" button in the UI (left sidebar of the new-style UI) no longer does anything! I click it, it flashes, but no jails screen comes up.

I don't seem to have anything significant in the logs, at least not that I've found. It was all working fine before the reboot.

Hello dear guys,

Please help me with FreeNAS, for a month now i have this issue, i cannot see any reports on the first page of freenas, they keep loading and loading forever but never show, also smart alerts don't show eitehr or any components statistics (ram/cpu usage etc). I did try to stop collectd and rrd then go to /var/db/collectd/rrd and deleted everything, start collectd back but it did not work, i also tried deleted and rebooting and did not work, freenas did made all the folders...

What has happened to the FreeNAS roadmap?

Now that the bug tracker has migrated away from Redmine how can I determine when releases are due and what the outstanding issues are.

The old system was very clear, but unless I am not looking in the right place I don't see any way to get the info provided by the old system.

After beeing able to install, setup and configure everything, I started to copy my file from temporary storage to my FreeNAS. Very surprised, I got poor copy performances. During the transfer, the copy seems to stuck on big files, loosing connection and have to restart/retry the copy. Windiws estimated speed fall from 110Mb/s to 0 and keep doing nothing and ..... error ..

I read on the forum to see that many...
