I tried both static IP from iocage/GUI & DHCP from GUI. None worked. It couldn't get IP address from DHCP but I want to use static IP route.
I can't even ping my default gateway 10.0.10.10 from inside Jail.
I am not too familiar with this and would love some help.

CPU: E5-2650 v2 (8C/16T)
RAM: 64GB 1600MHz DDR3
HBAs: 2x LSI 9211-8i flashed to IT-mode
Drives: 10x10TB WD Red (white label, shucked from WD External drives) in one ZFS2 pool
NIC: Intel X540-T2 2x10Gb RJ45

Good morning
I have noticed some weird performance issues while deleting multiple files. This only happens when deleting files. I can do mass-renaming of files at far higher speeds (IOPS).
One example: Deleting 200 files see speeds drop towards 1 file/s in Windows 10 (SMB share). Is this normal, or some sort of issue, and if it is, is it client based (my Windows 10 desktop), or server based?
HW:
MB: X9SRL-F
CPU: E5-2650 v2
RAM: 64GB (48GB dedicated to freeNAS, 16GB to a VM in freeNAS)...

I upgraded from 11.2 U7 to 11.3 RC1 tonight. All of my jails were on 11.2-RELEASE and all manually created (no plugins). After I upgraded, two of my jails are listed as CORRUPT and one of them fails to start with a DHCP error.

Above is a screenshot of the ACL manager in Beta 1. It's accessible by clicking on the three-dot menu next to the dataset entry under Storage in the new UI.
Path - indicates the path that's ACL is being displayed. The WebUI exposes this on a per-dataset level. The websocket API can take arbitrary paths that are located under /mnt/
User - the owner of the file in question
Group - the owner-group of the file in question...

I am running Nextcloud 17 with PHP 7.1 in an iocage jail under FreeNAS 11.2-U7.
As the PHP version will be EOL soon, I am trying to make a plan to upgrade.
I can´t find a decent guide on doing this. I suspect it´s not as simple as removing the PHP71 package and install a PHP73 one? Does someone have something similar to a guide on doing this? And which version to go for? Any recommendation there?
I also have a few friends I´ve helped with setting NC up, and a couple of them are on PHP...

Agh, it was all going so well too! I've just built my new FreeNAS server (nas0), got FreeNAS installed and running, and transferred all of the data from my old machine (nas1).

So I have this problem with my own dataset and I cannot find the reason for it. This problem appeared after I made a VeraCrypt volume (size 1,0 TB) in the dataset via samba connection from windows. Hi,
I have a jail that contains 3 plugins, the jail is also using OpenVPN. After 2 days, the plugins lose connectivity to the outside internet. This only recently started happening in the last month.
If I restart the jail, everything is fine.
Allow_Tunnel is checked, in the Network Properties of the Jail.
Any advice on what to look for here?

Hello,
I'am trying to figure out why is my replication task not fast enough .
And I don't see any problem in my setup.
Setup:
Primary DS: FN 11.2u6 ; 2x E5-2623 v4; 128GB RAM; 24x 1TB Crucial mx300
Backup DS: FN 11.2u7 ; 1x E5-2623 v4; 64GB RAM; 12x 6TB WDred HDD
Network: 10Gb SFP+DAC (dedicated - replication link is not used by anything else)
Configuration:
Pool Sync disabled
Stream compression disabled
Cipher disabled
Measurements:
iperf / netperf hitting almost full network...

Okay, so I don't want to visualize freenas. I know some say it can be done but I just don't want the risks with this data. I know , I know it can be done they say but I'd just rather not.
But I'm in a weird situation where I have a need (well someone I work with has the need) for storage and freenas is the perfect fit but they also have a need for a few other servers, think a linux box or 2 and a Windows server.
Is it safe to virtualize ON freenas? In a production environment. To clarify...

Hi all,
I've played with Freenas a few times and would now like to roll it out. My main requirement is for Nextcloud to run on it but I've hit a hurdle:
Installed Freenas onto suitable hardware (i7, 8GB etc). All running OK. Added a Pool and a Dataset.
Installed Nextcloud via the plugin method and can get into the setup screen no issue. The problem is that when I try and setup the admin account, no matter what options I try, it comes back and says:
error while trying to create admin user...

Just a sanity check before I brick something.
I'm running a few jails with transmission, sonarr, lidarr, jackett, etc.
When setting up everything (minus transmission) I had the foresight to add the respective daemon users as 351:351 in each jail to avoid issues with shared files.
Transmission was installed via plugin with the uid:gid being 921:921, different from my new jails. I was not smart enough to create them with 921.
A bandaid fix would be to change the uid:gid of the transmission...

I was recently playing around with netdata on my xcp-ng hardware (Xen hypervisor). I really liked the lived reports it would generate.
Does FreeNas have anything equivalent? The reporting tab in the gui is nice, but really isn't at the same level or detail as compared to netdata.

Hello.
So problem is that freenas alert me about errors. I checked zpool status and found that there are writing errors, check smartctl but it was ok, so i decided to watch this disk and clear errors, i make
#zpool clear whole
So number of errors was reset to 0 but status anyway says that pool degraded:
