So I am currently trying to set up a Cloud Sync Task to my GSuite Shared Drive. I have been successful in setting up a Cloud Sync to my GSuite My Drive, but can't seem to get it working for the shared drive. I created a separate Cloud Credential which contains the Team Drive ID found by the string of characters in the top level folder of the shared drive, and the "verify credentials" button confirms it is valid as well. I updated the Plex pkg and noticed this note:

If you have a supported Intel GPU, you can leverage hardware
accellerated encoding/decoding in Plex Media Server on FreeBSD 12.0+.

The requirements are as follows:

* Install multimedia/drm-kmod: e.g., pkg install drm-fbsd12.0-kmod

* Enable loading of kernel module on boot: sysrc kld_list+="drm"
** If Plex will run in a jail, you must load the module outside the jail!

* Load the kernel module now: kldload...

[SOLVED] Update 11.3 U2 [Errno 13] Permission denied: './ValidateUpdate'

Since yesterday I have been trying to install the update 11.3 U2. Sadly I am faced with this message:

And then icon appears in top bar of download happening:

If I click on it I get this message:

After an hour, nothing changes, download icon keeps moving but no update happens. If I log in again, everything is like normal.

tplink-monitor-linux install?

Has anyone tried using the TPLink Monitor installing in on FreeNAS 11.1U-7 please? This is NOT software to monitor an ethernet interface. It's software to monitor the TP-Link HS110 Smart Plug. It pulls back and stores Energy consumption as monitored by the plug. Basically acting the same way as an SNMP server might work on network equipment. It then provides a web interface to diaply the collected data.

Hi Community,

I just started and set up my first FreeNAS box based on a slightly old Fujitsu MX130 S2 with an AMD Opteron 3280 (8 core 2.4Ghz) and 16GB RAM. The box has a TDP of 65W (excluding the drives), so a perfect little storage for my home office I thought.

The problem is that I do not see a good performance over the network (say, from my Mac) using a SMB share to access it.

The pool itself I created is a "Mirror" (not sure how this is correctly called) using two Seagate ST4000...

Greetings all,

As with the rest of you who are long time users of FreeNAS (now TrueNAS) I am finding the new UI a little tricky. It is - on the whole, a good change and I think it was time to make that step. I did do a search here on some terms to see if this has already been mentioned and I could just plus one to it. I was unable to find anything specific in the last couple years- since the new UI has been evolving.

Cannot Install Plex Plugin - 11.3 U3.2

Hi Folks,

I have a fairly simple setup, FreeNAS-11.3-U3.2 running on x86_64. Two network interfaces, one on the main LAN, second on an internal-only management network.

When I try to install Plex plugin using default settings (this is the first plugin or Jail ever tried) I get to 50% of the installaiton it says 'ffmpeg' in the progress bar, then it fails with the following message:

Error: plex had a failure Exception: RuntimeError Message: pkg error: - pkg-static...

Help debugging cron issue

I have a cron job set to run a very simple script that just pipes the output of a command to a file every day at noon. It will run for a month or two and then mysteriously stop running without any changes on the server at all. There is nothing in the log files ... zero. When I manually run the script from the shell it works fine, but if I use the FreeNAS web UI to manually run the job nothing happens. If I reboot it will work fine for another couple of months and then stop again. I don't...

ich will endlich den Einstieg in den Homeserver-Bereich wagen und habe mir darum vor einigen Tagen das aktuelle FreeNas auf meinen PC installiert. Da mir momentan das nötige Kleingeld fehlt, habe ich das System auf einer kleinen SSD installiert und als Datenplatte eine kleine 2TB-Platte in den PC geschraubt, um

ZFS Send to Resync?

Hello,

I followed a guide to copy data from current pool to a new pool of new hard drives with the plan of replacing the existing drives.

To copy the data over, I used: zfs send -R <old pool>@<name of snapshot> | zfs receive -F <new pool>

That zfs send took a long time to complete and I haven't yet finalized the migration. I believe that there may be some changes in files since doing the zfs send and need to resync the two pools.

Is there a way to resync the data between the two pools...

Dedup Special Drive?

With the intro of the special dedup drive, does this make dedup more usable now? Less reliant on memory?

We run almost a 100 terminal servers on a storage server so we are just starting to test true nas and determine if a special meta drive makes sense or maybe start u sing dedup?

we typically run 11 mirrored vdevs, 256gb ram, mirrored zil and a 2tb l2arc with 40gb network cards....

Looking for some more speed! lol

plexmediaserver plugin cannot be installed on truenas core 12.0 beta

Hi,
After a fresh installation of truenas core 12.0 beta, I try to install the plexmediaserver plugin. But I got an error when the installation reached its 75%.

11.3-2 -> 12Beta upgrade sqlite issues

Hi.

After upgrading to the beta I seem to have sqlite issues, previous threads suggests this is related to failing storage, however I run the OS on a pair of SAS drives mirrored, doesn't seem to be the issue.

Opening the sqlite the file appears fine

Trying to setup SMB shares on 12-BETA1 I've run into some challenges with permissions.

Most likely this is me doing something wrong :smile:

Trying to change owners on a dataset from the webui doesn't seem to do anything, even with the checkboxes for user, group and recursive checked. If I end up changing them via CLI the webui show the new owner. ACLs get set - checked with getfacl.

The other thing I'm having challenges with is using groups for sharing.

Storage Reporting in GUI vs CLI

Hello,

I am running FreeNAS-11.3-U3.2 and I am having trouble interpreting and making sense of what the CLI is reporting my pool size is vs what the GUI is showing.
The GUI is showing I have Available Space 14.51 TiB (27%) used, and in Cli when I do zpool list and zpool list -v I get size 29T(Size) 7.69T (Allocated) 21.3T (Free). I am not understanding these numbers as they differ? I have 8x 4TB drives in the Pool. None of this makes sense to me. Thanks

Hello FreeNAS-Community,

i set up a new FreeNAS as a Proxmox Guest. (With passed through HBA).

Is there a good tutorial of "must have" steps to perform after fresh install?
Things like how to setup email notifications scrub tasks or such things? (since i have no clue what is necessary i hope for your help and recommendations).

I want to put the file of apple photos application on a dataset, and use that file on my two computers, imac and macbookpro, is it possible? i see on past posts about nfs better than afp, but i don't understand why, and something about case insensitive. Anyone do it before?

Wireguard: tunables not working for me

Hi,

I am on FreeNAS 11.3 U3.2 and I am trying to follow the tutorial to install Wireguard on FreeNAS (https://www.ixsystems.com/blog/wireguard-on-freenas-11-3/)

the thing is, I add the tunables variables, but they never show up, neither at my /etc/rc.conf, nor at /tmp/rc.conf, which is where they should end up according the documentation.

Any tips on how to fix it?

Also, the tutorial doesn't go deep into how to make a wg0.conf file. Anyone could share a bit of experience on...

Dear community members,
first off I want to say thank you for all the great stuff I was already allowed to read on this forum. It helped me a lot in many cases, but now unfortunately I am stuck and need to ask you directly for help.

In short: I can upload stuff to my FreeNAS-server with almost 10Gbit/s but when downloading stuff I never exceed 3Gbit/s.

Note: Is seem sto be most likely no ZFS or zpool issue since i am testing with [FONT=courier...[/COLOR]
