ProgramArguments, how to change (ctld in mind)

Hello,
How can man change the ProgramArguments controlled from the freenas?

In the 10 masters (including the one from 24.12) the options for ctld daemon are "-u -d".
The debug one is not good for me (just accept the first iscsi session, handover it to the kernel and then exit).
If I have to add several paths (and hosts) I have to stop/start the iscsi service.
I made dump of the config.db (from the gui) and inside are the mentioned ProgramArguments for the ctld...which are the same as the...

Hi Everyone,

For sometime i have been thinking bout building my own FreeNAS server for around 6 months, Watching the odd video reading a forum here and there. Then starting watching FreeNAS OS videos as well. Now i have my first build (2nd Build coming soon) The reason am building a 2nd FreeNAS Server is for more Space and better Server grade Parts.

I have very limited know how on networking/servers/freeNAS

1st Build is very simple the only parts am taking out are the 2 TB drives to be...

Buongiorno ragazzi,
Vi scrivo sperando di trovare una soluzione.

Ho deciso di creare un nas da un vecchio pc ma i problemi sono iniziati subito con l'istallazione.
Ho scaricato prima le versioni x86 masterizzandola su un cd-rw ma niente da fare il bios non vedeva nulla nel cd.
Dopo vari tentativi ho provato a masterizzare l'ultima versione 9.10 sempre su cd-rw, installazione che parte ma l'usb dove decido di mettere l'os non era sufficientemente grande (dopo ho letto che non avrebbe mai...

Advice on how to boot my SuperMicroBoard

I've built a headless FreeNAS server using a X11SSL-CF mobo.

I can boot to the IPMI web interface, however this is where I'm running into problems

I've been able to set time and date with NTP, however can I boot to the BIOS through IPMI? I simply have one network cable from the router plugged directly into the IPMI port. Additionally I need to flash my SAS controller to IT mode to remove the RAID capabilities, however I sure am having a hard time having the board remotely mount iso file....

MineOS password change?

So I just setup a mineos jail for my son and I changed the mcserver password via the command prompt but now I can't seem to get logged in to the web gui.
We were trying to lock it down a bit more as he'd like to make it available on the web so he can play minecraft with his friends.

Any help, suggestions, ect is appreciated.

  • This plugin requires FreeNAS version 9.2.1.8 or higher
  • You should add an "Pre-Init Command" similar to this so the plugin works after a (re)boot without manual stopping and starting
    • Code:
      /sbin/mount -t linprocfs linprocfs /mnt/tank/jails/mineos_1/usr/compat/linux/proc

  • To update the MineOS program run 'service mineos update' in the plugin jail
  • User/Group/Password management is done by editing UNIX...

I've been reading up on virtualizing FreeNAS, and the benefits of using iSCSI and the necessity of the unmap command recently. There has been numerous debates on using NFS vs iSCSI when virtualizing FreeNAS using ESXi. Presumably, this is with the support of the VAAI plugin.

However, from what I've read, you need at least Vsphere standard license to utilize VAAI, which is many thousands of dollars. I don't have access to VAAI since I am just wanting to operate a homelab, and at most I...

Hola a todos.

Voy a utilizar FreeNAS y no se muy bien si utilizar iSCSI o SMB. Mayormente voy a utilizarlo como almacén de datos. Creo que utilizando iSCSI tendría algunas ventajas, pero tampoco se muy bien cuáles.

El FreeNAS o mejor dicho los FreeNAS (porque voy a tener dos) quiero que sean una copia el uno del otro. Cada uno de los FreeNAS tendrá 6 discos de 500GB y pretendo hacer RAIDZ1, en cada uno de los FreeNAS. Cuando sepa manejar RSYNC, pensaba utilizarlo para tenerlos...

Very strange, I know. Logs can be provided if needed. Here's my situation:

Usually I'll have Foobar2000 running in the background while I do other stuff around the house. Recently, it's been skipping like crazy after about 10 minutes, and after pulling up Freenas and looking at the Display System Processes, 'smdb' all of a sudden is using 100% of the CPU on the Freenas machine. Insane thing is, if I start messing with my Windows machine again, I can literally WATCH the CPU drop to normal...

Hi All,

I hope someone can help me with this replication issue. I can't seem to find anyone else having the same error messages.

I have an HP Microserver Gen 8 with a Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU G1610T @ 2.30GHz (Xeon coming soon), 16 GB ECC RAM, 1x4TB WD Red (Will be getting another very soon) and FreeNAS-9.10.2 (a476f16).  The remote host is a personal dedicated server from Online.net with 1 TB disk and 4 GB non ECC RAM (I know it should be ECC but I have backups of the data on USB HDD at...

Hi,

someone here uses the software for Windows backup?
Once the backup starts after a few minutes, it breaks again. If I set destination to native Windows Server it works perfect.
Ma FreeNAS ist running - FreeNAS-9.10.1-U4 (ec9a7d3), NIC is 2 Ports Intel.

I think this has to do with oplocks but I have no more any idea what can I do :(

So I've been looking at used Supermicro servers on Ebay.  And the prices seem pretty good...
I don't need state of the art...

I've combed through a lot of Supermicro forum searches and it seems that some people have no issues with used
Supermicro servers..   Other than making sure the hardware is what will work with Freenas..

So around $300- $400, I can get a decent Supermicro motherboard with a lot of memory and 2 cpus in a chassis...

My dilemma is I know the 1 - 3U chassis's...

Unable to start UPS services

Error: Description:
Validation failed config: Additional properties are not allowed ('email_notify', 'email_recipients' were unexpected)

This is on a fresh install, only defaults selected.

I've tried adding email notify, removing it, nothing gets the UPS service to actually start.

Plex Media Library Location

Hello.

I've set up plex but I'm having trouble finding the media library in Plex. Im trying to put media in the Plex library.  Where is the library located? I'm new to this Docker thing and I have no idea how to work it.

As far as I understand Plex is stored inside a container and is isolated from everything else. So does my media library get created inside that container? If yes, how do I create a share to access inside that container?

If not, I'm gonna have to store my media outside...

No dashboard data since FreeNAS-10-MASTER-201612220339

Since I updated to
FreeNAS-10-MASTER-201612220339, the dashboard data i.e. CPU usage etc. etc. is no longer available. It just displays spinning blue icon for all data points. I am currently running FreeNAS-10-MASTER-201612250513 & the issue remains. Is anyone else experiencing this & if so, when can we expect a fix?

Obviously a change was made to the configuration of the forum recently. I've noticed that there is no more mixed content warning from linked images and everything is now served over a secure connection. What was changed to accomplish this?

Hi all,

I've gotten Plex, Sabnzbd, and Couchpotato now running in a docker. Functionality seems fine, the only issue I'm running into is permissions (I think...). The scenario is as follows...

Couchpotato finds a release, sends a command to Sabnzbd to download.
Sab downloads to "Complete" folder
Couchpotato scans "Complete" folder for release and tries to rename/move the file to the "Movies" folder

Seem to be getting an error everytime couchpotato goes into rename a download. Leaves a...
