IP camera under Homebridge using FFMPEG

Hi there,

I'm trying to get my Hikvision cam (model DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3) running on TrueNAS-12.0-U2.1 under a Homebridge Jail.

The Homebridge jail is working well and I've been able to connect my Ring cams, Nest Thermostat and Tuya light devices. But I can't get the IP Camera to work.

In VLC the RTSP stream is working fine: rtsp://user:passw@192.168.1.64:554/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/101 ... (or substream 102)

When manually installing the FFMPEG plugin, I get an error that FreeBSD X86 is...

Choppy play with Plex+Chromecast?

Running TrueNAS-12.0-U2.1 with Plex media server and Chromecast Ultra connected to a wired 1Gbit Cat6 connection. There is no transcoding and I'm streaming a low 10Mbps (1MB/s), yet the video played on my TV is jittery, is like every few seconds there are few frames missing. The audio plays properly in sync. Playing the file directly from NAS on my Mac is perfect, no jittering,

Any idea how to fix this? It is extremely annoying and quite unwatchable...

Hello everybody, I run a Truenas server. in this there are 4 HDDs which run in a mirror. So two mirror pools with two HDDs each. A Nextcloud plugin / jail is running in each of the two pools. I am currently doing a backup every 3 hours with a replication task and snapshots on another server. There are also two pools here, each with a disk for the backups. What I want to do now is the following, if the main server fails, the backup server should take over and take over the two Nextcloud...

Installation CD boot issue

Hello,

i'm trying to install the FreeNAS-11.3-U5 from CD. My system uses 120 GB SSD and external USB DVD drive. But after i start from the CD the installation will be halted before the "Shark Menu" with following message:

Hello all,

I am new here and I am also new to FreeNAS.
I already have the bellow pieces of hardware.
Please advise me how to use them wisely.
Mainly, I need to know the right type/combination of RAIDZ for the disks I have in order to get the best balance between space/speed/redundancy/scalability.

The scope of the project is to build a NAS with following functions:

Private/family cloud for personal pictures and movies (2 - 4 TB) - Very important
Small business relative critical data...

Setting up a virtual machine - WIN10 and have successfully loaded the OS and am able to login etc.. however, can not access the internet. While the device manager in windows shows the network card I can not get it to connect.. Any suggestions?

I have:
  • TrueNAS using the IP 192.168.1.185
  • a dataset named pool0/media owned by root
  • an Ubuntu VM named ubuntu_mk with IP 192.168.1.160
  • an NFS share named /mnt/pool0/media, with "Mapall User" set to root

I can ping TrueNAS from Ubuntu and Ubuntu from TrueNAS.

However, when I try to mount the NFS share using the command:

sudo mount -t nfs...

Good Afternoon,
after long thought i thing i try to migrate my storage to TrueNAS. My Setup would be ESXi with a virtualization TrueNas with the PCI-Passthough H330 Controller. I already read a lot and think i know more or less what needs to be done. First of all flash the Perc H330 with the IT-Mode Firmware.

Unfortunately i'm somehow stuck at the moment. My dell Card has the part number 0TD2NM and the physical layout is not corresponding to any card of the thread...

So a week or so ago my area had a rigorous windstorm that flicked the power switches for our municipality on and off for a bit. I had been at work at the time and my partner was asleep so I wasn't able to shutdown the server, and apparently my UPS battery had died at some point over the last 3 years (new one is on the way, huzzah). SuperMicro X11SCL IPMI not working after upgrade to 12.x

My IPMI interface on my supermicro x11scl is no longer working since upgrading to v12 from 11 U5.

It was previously working, i have tried changing from static IP to DHCP and it doesn't pull a DHCP address, although the eth port indicates it is up on both the device and switch.

Challenges creating a bootable Install USB

I downloaded and installed Scale on my ESXi host several months ago and am ready to put it on bare metal.

So I create a bootable Install USB using Rufus and Etcher but no matter what I try, I can't get the server to boot to the installer and execute.

I've tried different USB, switched from BIOS to UEFI, confirmed other UEFI and BIOS USB sticks will boot from the same server, etc.

I feel so stupid but I'm out of ideas.

Checking if my LSI HBA is in IT Mode

Hello,

Simple question here, how do I check if my LSI HBA card is indeed in IT Mode?

The reason I ask I'm seeing, what I think is some odd behaviour when looking at my disks breakdown. When I take a drive out, add a new one or swap some drives around, the new one won't show up and the ones that have moved positions will lose their serial number in GUI. The only way to get them to show up is to either put them in their original spots or reboot the system.

Could this be because the card...

in addition to any of my jails (URBACKUP) ,in console i see following error ,shown below

Can't install on new ASUS H570PLUS motherboard - Cannot see network card

motherboard ASUS H570 PLUS, Chipset Intel H570, Ethernet Intel I219-V
The Network Card did not recognize after the TrueNAS installation. Installed Windows 10, the line card recognized, and Ethernet up. As per the knowledge base search, the chipset should have been supported by TrueNAS and FreeBSD.
I'm wondering if there is a plan to support the installation on Intel H570. Please advise the workaround how to get the TrueNAS up and running on ASUS H570 PLUS motherboard

Lost all pools

Helo,
HOw can I restore all lose pools ?
I can start TrueNAS without any problem, but I dont see any pool.

Many thanks for any help very important.
we had ransomware attack and lot of files are encrypted.
I don't know what a coincidence it is - but in the same time (when we need restore our files) we loss all pools on our TrueNAS.
I see all disk in the Storage, but not any pool.

Hi,
I'm new in TrueNAS community and trying to get working my first server.
I've HP dl380e G8 with P822 turned into HBA mode.

Attached disk are directly visible in TrueNAS and I can read all disk S.M.A.R.T. informations, create zpools etc.

The problem is with hot swap. After inserting new drive I got following messages in server console:
ciss0: *** Hot-plug drive inserted, Port=5I Box=1 Bay=13 SN=XXXXX

I built a truenas server for our non-profit, see build details below. At some point the server had trouble booting, I now think it might be related after adding a VM or Jail. Most of the time the kernel panics on boot after being unable to start "ntpd". (see screenshots) I replaced the power supply thinking maybe it was a power issue, issue persists. I turned off AutoStart for the jail the last time it was booted successfully, so I am not sure it is jail related - although I had several...
