If I remember correctly this option was available in FreeNAS (and probably by extension in TreuNAS core, unfortunately I cannot use Core because I have 2.5Gbps Intel adapter and FreeBSD is no longer receiving any TLC from Intel so legacy FreeNAS and new Core will not work).
Does this option exist in Scale and where is it located, I can't seem to find it. I only see my custom pools in any drop down and commands relating to system and application datasets. I know its not recommended because...

Hello,
yesterday i had the problem that my whole system was unresponsive and i couldnt connect to the webinterface.
Console was not working too.
So i pressed the reset button on my server and it started up again. But now my k3s apps wont work anymore.
They were stuck at deploying for hours. Then i tried to restart the server again but now when i open the installed apps page it loads forever.

Great community hope u can help.
I have a used Dell Poweredge R330 with E-3 1280v5 16GB of RAM
PERC H730 Adapter in hba mode and 7 x 1TB sata 3.5inc "Entreprise" HDDs 7200rpm.
Now i know is better to start with new HDDs with larger capacity and leave room for SSDs instead.
Maxing on memory is also a must i understand.
But for now i just added a normal 1TB 7200 HDD.
Before i create a pool i wanted to bencmark my hdds to verify that all perform...

Hello, I am new here and I have zero experience with BSD or TrueNAS. I have some experience with Linux systems but my knowledge about VPN and networking is limited. I have this problem:

I am helping a friend start up a business of about 20ish people on a 10gig network. (We have all the networking switches and whatnot ready to go). I've had intermittent email notifications, and I'm finally getting around to trying to chase this down.
I've viewed other threads, I
think I have all the bits configured. (I'd describe the required configuration as both arcane, and not very well documented.)
I'm expecting that I would find traces in the FreeNAS system log files of attempts to send email notifications, and if they failed, I'm hoping to tell at what stage, and maybe even find evidence of what happened...

I have a 2x TrueNAS scale server implementation with iSCSI VMFS6 datastores configured for ESXi. Both servers are running the latest Scale release (22.02 RC2). I've used FreeNAS as a media vault for .iso copies of my DVD and BluRay discs for years, accessing them via a KDLINKS A400 Android streaming box. This lets me select a movie to watch from my library without getting up from my seat. I have been EXTREMELY satisfied with this.

I have had Truenas Core for a while, but all of my peripherals are plugged into USB 2 ports. When I plug them into USB 3 ports, they are not recognized. I have tried different settings in BIOS but nothing changes. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

It seems like there are lot of guides here on installing Nextcloud, and a number of people reporting problems with many of them. So, I figured, why not write another one? Hi,
Is there software available which would clone my boot SSD to a USB stick? I realize after I built my latest NAS that I had a single point of failure which was the boot drive. I do not have any more SATA ports without adding a PCI card. I was thinking if I could setup a routine that would weekly or monthly do a full copy of my boot drive to a USB stick (that would be bootable) I would have fault tolerance if my boot drive ever fails or corrupts. here's a write-up about how to integrate a FreeNAS box into an Open Directory environment, including single-sign on support. I struggled a bit to make this work, this howto is intended for my own documentation and as reference for others who try to achieve the same thing. I have working Truenas scale on supermicro ivy-E platform with 2670v2. I tried to change to x99 with 2650l v3 and at first it tried to boot. then Gaveerror that zfs import failed for boot so i tried zpool import -N boot... -f and seems that helped
then when it tries to continue to boot it fails on config import or something. even if it boots it fails to obtain Ip. I've put the same mellanox 10g sfp+ nic as previously. looks that naming has changed but wieh o connected directly and select 1...

I did an upgrade of my NAS to new hardware and faced an error during migration -> Apps can't be installed + VMs run unstably, I'm getting "Kubernetes service is not running"
What happened before issue (prerequisites):
- Hardware upgrade from old Intel v3 to new Ryzen 5800x:
MB: Supermicro X10SLL-F ---> Asrock Rack X570D4U
CPU: Xeon E3 1271 v3 ---> Ryzen 5800X
RAM: 32 Gb ECC ---> 64Gb nonECC

Hi.
I've a Freenas server on my network that hosts two Windows shares SMB:

If I try to access it from any Windows 10 domain client in the same networtk , simply by putting
\\freenas\dataset1 in the
run as box , I can see and access all two windows shares without issue:

Anyway, from only one client I can't see
Documenti Pubblici Uffici shared folder but only
Docs folder.
The domain client, however, seems to works fine.
