Здравствуйте. Я новичок в truenas, вот понемногу разбираюсь в системе. Возникла проблема, для внутренних плагинов выделил отдельный диск , небольшого обьема. Установил на него qBittorent, Plex, nextcloud, и пытался изменить путь для загрузи файлов, но не смог выбрать другой пул. Система предоставляет возможность выбрать другой пул для установленных плагинов? Заранее спасибо.

Windows SMB permissions all screwed up after upgrade to 13
I fully admit that I do not fully comprehend SMB sharing permissions. It has just worked until my latest update. I just updated from 12.0-U6 (I believe that was the release) to 13.0 today. Unfortunately, now my SMB sharing is all screwed up and I can not access files properly from other machines. The files are all there, I just can't access them. Et voilà, j'ai laissé partir mon NAS Syno début de semaine.
Je fais maintenant, officiellement parti de la communauté "TrueNas Scale".
Après quelques galères et tâtonnements, tout fonctionne et j'ai même arrêté ce jour mon serveur Proxmox. Entre les APPS et une VM, j'ai réussi à tout faire fonctionner sur mon serveur Truenas.
Pour résumer : Serveur HPe Gen10+, 32Go de Ram, i3 9100F (Xeon E-2234 en prévision si besoin), carte PCIE avec 2 SSD M2 500Go, 2xWD Raid 12Go et 2xSSD...

Fastest way to compare 2 datasets?
Looking to do a file contents comparison in 35 TiB of data. I have both pools on the same machine.
I tried 3 methods they are all terribly slow for this much data:
diff
md5
rsync
Thoughts?

I have Scale installed on Nas and i use ubuntu. I have tried installing Plex on SSD pool but cant seem to get access to files in library in Plex. I now have installed Plex on the main dataset but cant seem to get access to the media files there either. I can see the files in the nfs share from ubuntu but not from shell in Scale. I seem to missing something with permissions since the files dont show up in Plex but the media folders do. The media folder is a nfs share. Any pointers what i...

Just wanted to share that there is a company called Innovision now on AliExpress offering some great NAS focused products direct from China. I've seen these chassis rebranded to many 'Western' brands, but now you can get direct from the manufacturer. Shipping is expensive and lengthy due to size and weight but still represents a small saving against the prices I've seen for similar products. Connecting to Truenas with iPhone
I have an issue where I am unable to connect to my NAS will connected to my home wifi. However, if I turn off wifi and connect to OpenVPN, I can connect to the NAS with no problems.
I am assuming this is some sort of IP address issue but I am not sure how to go about troubleshooting this. When I first setup the NAS I could connect with no problems.

Is there a way to create a VM disk as a file (NFS), instead of a zVol (block)?
Hi everyone, I know the VM storage on file vs block is a debate going on and on.
I noticed that TrueNas Scale allows VM disks only on block devices. But the majority of hypervisors give both possibilities.
Having a VM in a file allows you to copy them, to edit, or clone / replicate them. That’s great.
I don't think not being able to do that is a limitation of ZFS itself but more a limitation of Scale.
I know Scale is pretty young, but is there any plan to do that in the future?

Traefik redirect issues
Hello,
today I successfully managed to setup traefik as an ingress provider for all apps I've installed on my TrueNAS box. So far so good, I disliked the fact, that PiHole is only reachable, when calling it using the correct path (<domain>/admin). I tried to add a redirectRegex middleware to pihole, redirecting calls to the plain domain to <domain>/admin, but that results in a weird redirection loop when accessing it on a browser.

Error during pool zfs version upgrade. What to do?
I just upgraded to 13.0 without problems - nice. However, I tried to upgrade my pool but the Webgui showed an unspecifed error. So what to do now?
I have tried to look up the version of my pool but it doesn't return any value.
I don't know if this is the right way to see if my pool has been upgraded. If not what should I do?

single "Read Errors" on different drives
I just built a 12x4TB Nas out of old server parts as many do, and have started filling it with data. After filling it I moved a bit of data between Datasets, and thats when 2 drives each got a single "read" error in "zpool status"... I cleared it, moved some more data, and another drive or two got a single "read" error... I cleared it again and initiated a manual scrub to have everything checked, now 2 other drives got a single "read" error

Drives writing every 5 seconds despite moving system dataset to SSD boot pool
My current setup has 2 HDD's in a pool and an SSD as my boot pool. Current position of my home server in the house means that the constant writes to disk are an annoyance. Simplest solution would be to replace the HDD's with SSD's but budget currently doesn't allow for this. Reading the many posts on this forum about similar issues I decided to move the system dataset to the boot pool but this hasn't done anything to resolve the constant writes. so after have several network down on my onboard Intel NIC (watchdog time out), i browse online and bought TP-Link TG-3468 to try out without further research :( from some of the research, looks like freenas not support this realtek chipset NIC ? is it really no hope for this ?
anyway, during googling, i founded that actuall FreeBSD 12.1 already support this NIC, just thinking that FreeNAS also based on FreeBSD, is there any workaround way to make this NIC work ...

I'm new to Truenas Scale (went from running a Ubuntu Docker Server to TrueNAS) and so far I'm liking it.
Just trying to finalize my Switch over to TrueNAS and finishing up with my UPS.
I have a CyberPower LE1000DG-FC from Best Buy and had it working fine on the Ubuntu Server running the Powerpanel Drivers and Configuration.
However, on TrueNAS Scale I can't seem to get any response from the UPS.
I run the command upsc ups and get Connection Refused.
