Plex Cannot Find Server

Hey!

Currently on a FreeNAS 11.2 RC1

Got a weird problem with the Plex server plugin in that it can't find a Plex server, despite itself being one. Any idea on how to fix that? Tried reinstalling the plugin / checking mounts and perusing previous forum threads with other people having the same problem, but it's either a rare issue, since I found little to no prior conversation, or one that's pretty impossible to diagnose.

Can't download plugins

So after some time I eventually fixed the nas and restored everything from pools. But when I try to install plugins it just shows me

[EFAULT] Exception: CallError:[EFAULT] pkg error: - pkg-static: /var/db/pkg permissions (0775) too lax Please check your network occured, destroyed plex.

I've tried disabling all my DNS's removing old folders where old plugins still were inside. There is an option to put in the IPv4 interface on my own but since I'm quite new to FreeNAS software I don't want...

This is a how to install Nextcloud 13 with all checks passed on FreeNAS 11.

New in this guide is how to create and iocage jail and it also works with version 11 & 12 of nextcloud

This is a rewrite of the original post https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/how-to-nextcloud-10-w-apache-php-and-mariadb.46111/ with a few added adjustments where needed to make this fully functional.
I know this works as I have re-emulated this 4 times today to insure its accuracy...

Setup:
I've been running this particular FreeNAS 9.10 for a few years now as a production iSCSI for my ESXi cluster. It currently runs on a Dell PowerEdge R310 with two Compellent storage arrays, filled with a total of 48 x 146 GB 15k RPM SAS drives in RAID 10 configuration.

I setup a SLOG and L2ARC and filled up the RAM to the max the R310 can hold of ECC RAM, 48 GB.

I've been keeping it updated and now it is at 9.10.2-U6 and will stay there now until I buy new hardware to...

Freenas-11.1-U6 fresh installs on c2010 dual xeon hp workstations w/32+GB of RAM and mirrored pools no larger than 16TB usable, compression on, de-duplication off.

Replication repeatedly renders the received destination pool unmounted/unmountable and disables direct access to existing files.  Access to the received snapshots through the GUI is still available.

How to install MiniDLNA into a FreeNAS 9.3, 9.10.x., 11.x (original GUI & New GUI) Jails (warden and iocage).

It appears that FreeNAS has no plans to incorporate a simple DLNA server for FreeNAS 9.3 and later so this thread contains detailed instructions to install MiniDLNA in a jail, your other option is to use Plex which does have a very good built in DLNA server.

I am running the Plex plugin in Freenas.  I recently set up the Plex DVR to record shows from my antenna/HDHomerun premium, however the files that are being created are not able to be deleted from my Windows machine.  I have been Googling around for the last few days, and I think the issue is permission related, as I am getting errors about being unable to delete do to not being the Unix user (in the file security tab, it identifies my Freenas root/wheel user as the only one who can write...

I don't seem to ever get how permissions on FreeNAS works. Upgraded to 11.2 RC2 from 11.1 U6 now. Hoping anyone here can give me the missing piece for me to understand it, and help me check what permission/step needs to be checked.
I want to set up Resilio Sync from scratch. I have two mirrored pools, one with backup stuff, one with media. (/mnt/tank2/backup and /mnt/tank/media).

aMule web interface not working after update

Hi,
Today I run "pkg uldate" and "pkg upgrade" in my aMule jail. Upgrade was successful, but now when I try to connect to the web page 10.0.0.6:4711 I cannot access to the application, whereas if I use the aMule connect app It works perfectly.
Is there a way to fix this issue? Or at least to roll back to the previous version

Reversing Replication

I have setup a new box and replication to transfer the data.
Now i want to make the new box the primary one.
in order to have still the old as updated Fallback version, can i simply disable snapshots an replication on the old and setup on th new with direction to the old?

Hi to All,
I've been using FreeNas for a quite, and I found it great, work like a charm, even if sometimes it could be a little painful to make it work fast.
But at last I've made it, expect for one thing:
I'm doing the backups of some webserver's logs, and the i'm doing a gzip of the files, before putting them on the Nas.
Even with the VM's backups I'm doing the same, gzipping them (action that takes lots of time) and then copy the file on the nas.

Can’t get plex to download metadata

I just upgraded my server and put freenas on a vm(esxi), using the plex plugin. Everything is set up, but no matter what I do, I can’t get metadata to download for anything. There is an internet connection and I have tried multiple times with multiple versions of plex. The network page wasn’t touched. I noticed when I tried setting up the plugin on freenas, I couldn’t get dhcp to work, but setting a static IP it downloaded just fine. I have also tried running the jail with my username and...

Dell T30 server transplanted in a Fractal Define R6 case

ESXi 6.7 installed on a flash drive.

FreeNAS (FreeBSD 11.1) running in ESXi

x8 WD 8TB red drives connected via an LSI 9211-8i (8 port) HBA raid controller in IT mode.
