[Hilfe] Weitere Festplatte wird erkannt, aber Kapazität nicht erweitert

Hallo zusammen,

da ich mich mit FreeNAS nur begrenzt auskenne, hoffe ich, dass mir jemand mit einem Problem helfen kann.

Aktuell nutze ich folgende Konfiguration:

- Hardware: Acer Aspire Revo R3600 mit 4 GB RAM/ 160 GB HDD
- Angeschlossenes Array: Sharkoon HDD Bay@5 Schächte
- FreeNAS Version: FreeNAS-11.1-U5 (Update mangels RAM Bedarf nicht mehr möglich)
- Volumes: 1

Ursprünglich wurden 3 Festplatten @ je 6TB eingebunden im RAID, so dass sich eine effektive Kapazität von 12 TB ergeben...

[11.2] Migrating the iocage dataset to an other pool ?

Hi !

I have lots of jails set up for my uses that i'd like to transfer to a newly bought SSD from my HDD pool.
I've found several posts talking about changing the iocage dataset location doing a reset, but :
nowhere i read touches upon how to effectively transfer an active jail dataset without having to remake every one of them.

What i already did :
- copy the whole dataset to a save folder
- prepared the new pool

So, my questions are :
- is there an other way than doing an "iocage clean...

[11.2RC2] vnc accessible desktop within a jail

Hi everyone !

I'm currently trying to set up a jail to do one thing :
getting an always running desktop running Xfce4 accessible through a browser with the help of the guacamole.apache applet (which is running fine in its own jail)

i've tried several things, but as i can't seem to search google right, i couldn't find the answers on my use case.
I've stumbled upon several ways to do it with X11forwarding with SSHD, but as i want to use guacamole, i need either VNC or RDP

Plex jail/vm, unable to "Claim server"

Decided to try Plex on my FreeNAS server but am having a bit of trouble.

Running FreeNAS 11.1. I have installed Plex using (1) the Plex plug-in, (2) a generic jail and manually installing Plex (using iocage from the command line), and (3) by creating a VM, installing Ubuntu server in the VM, and installing Plex.

In all three cases the setup seems to go fine and I can connect to the Plex server using xxx.xxx.x.x:32400/web and see it locally. But I can't enable remote access or claim...

Editing existing zvol shows blank info (11.2-RC2)

I'm having a weird issue where when trying to edit my one existing zvol, the edit page shows blank: https://i.imgur.com/xc52aJe.png

I tried creating another test zvol, and that one shows the correct info when I edit it. This pool was originally created on 9.something, then I installed 11.something over it, and upgraded to 11.2-RC2. Pretty sure it was working properly before 11.2-RC1 at least. It looks normal (I think, anyway) in the CLI.

I tried expanding it from the GUI by 1 GB...

My name is Terry. My username as taxman855 kinda gives away what my profession is. I am new to FreeNas and have just successfully converted a very old PC to a file server. I am looking into upgrading to version 9.3. This old machine is a 32bit machine so it appears the latest upgrade of FreeNas won't work. However, for my office purposes, this seems like it will be a good backup. I do utilize backblaze for my primary workstation but backup client files to an 3.0USB drive via the router. This...

Disk not found after system boot

I have a disk that has not been found by FreeNAS after system boot on the last two occurences.  Normally the server runs continously, and it had been running without error since the last boot, to update to FN 11.1-U6.  I shut it down to move it a few days ago, and disk /dev/da4 was not found after start up, and that RAIDZ2 pool was degraded.  I rebooted the server, and the disk was found.  FreeNAS did a very quick resilver, which completed successfully, but reporting 3 checksum errors on...

Web GUI not working

I have installed freenas but when i go to the web interface I just get the freenas logo on the screen.  There is no login page or anything else on the screen.  Has anyone seen this before?

I have a volume on my FreeNAS that I am rsync over SSH & VPN to a remote Synology. The Synology has a copy of the data already (minus a few new items on the FreeNAS). After much trouble getting SSH keys straight I am finally seeing rsync running. Unfortunately it is taking way too long so I looked at the log and I'm seeing this:

Serenity A222 Desktop

I have searched the forums for a few hours now. Can not seem to find if Freenas will work on the Serenity Desktop.
It has a ASUS Prime A320M-K AM4 mother board and AMD Ryzen 3 2200G 4-Core with VEGA 8 Graphics CPU.
Got it at a good price but I don't want to try and not get it to work. Would anyone know?

Hi all,

I run a newly build NAS based on ASRock Rack C2750D4I motherboard (detailed configuration in my signature). This motherboard has a passive heatsink and I started to look closely at the temperatures thru the IPMI web dashboard.

The motherboard stays around 38°C with a room temperature of 22°C.

The thresholds for CPU temperature are set to those defaults :
  • Upper Non-Recoverable (UNR) : 90°C
  • Upper Critical (UC) : 85°C
  • Upper Non-Critical (UNC) : 80°C

Lately I've seen a lot posts about ASRock Avoton boards failing < 2 years.  Just wondering how long yours has lasted and whether anyone has a board that went past the 2 year mark?

Considering FreeNAS minis run off these boards, I question the longevity of it and whether I should start looking for a new miniITX solution?

My C2750D4i lasted 13 months and just then suddenly won't POST

A few notes and assumptions

I'm running some tests on different configurations and am puzzled by some of the results I am getting.

My setup:
IBM x3650 m3 , 2 x5650 cpu, 128GB ram
LSI 9200-8e
2 x Netapp DS4246 with IOM6 (6 gbps)
8 x 4TB Seagate iron wolf in raidz2 sata
1 x samsung evo 850 120GB in stripe sata
Freenas 11.1-U6

test6.out = 42GB file generated with dd if=/dev/random, file is on th 8x4TB raidz2

/mnt/ssd=ssd stripe of samsung 850 evo 120GB
