nfsv4 problems

Hi guys,

I am running 11.2-U2.1, and I am trying to set up NFSv4 on a work environment.

I have clicked "Enable NFSv4" and "NFSv3 ownership model for NFSv4" (note: just trying this now; eventually I would like to set up Kerberos).

Testing a mount from CentOS 7, I am getting the following:

[root@frontend /]# mount -v -t nfs4 10.123.110.11:/mnt/vol/test /mnt/

Can't update plugin - version N/A

I'm currently running the Plex plugin version 1.13.4.5271 on FreeNAS 11.2-RC1 (Oct. 2018), and wish to update the plugin to version 1.13.8.5395 (latest version available), however I get no option to do so. When looking at my installed plugins, plex is listed with version N/A. I installed the plugin a while back after updating to FreeNAS 11.2 (and found my plugins were all gone in the new UI...).

I'm guessing I'm not getting the option to update because the current version number is...

jackett jail, service keeps stopping

I have installed jackett using the repository and have ran into issues where the service will just stop after 30 - 60 minutes. Everything runs fine when i start up the service up again however. The service starts automatically when the jail starts.

I am not sure how to fix this, any suggestions how to diagnose and fix?

11.2-U2 broke cloud sync tasks

The latest release broke rclone support. I had to roolback to 11.2-U1 to make the cloud sync tasks work again (with no changes to the task configuration).

The error on an SFTP task was:

Plugin/iocage/network issue

I have been attempting to fix my Plex Media Server plugin but I can't seem to get the networking out of the jail to operate properly. I am running FreeNAS 11.2-U1 on an ESXi server. The VM has been provisioned with 4 vCPUs (L5640) and 8GB memory. This has worked before in older versions of FreeNAS over the last two years. I have tried everything I can think of to include reinstalling FreeNAS 11.2-U1 from scratch and then trying to install the Plex plugin. I can't seem to use DHCP at all...

Currently there are
  • 8x WD Red 1TB
  • 1x Intel SSD 750
  • 1x LSIxxxx (forgotten) in IT-mode
  • 2x Samsung 32GB (M393A4K40CB1-CRC)
  • 1x SNK-C0111AP4L
connected. Used for iSCSI with several ESXi.
The board is working great. Nothing negative to report. The only thing is: heat. CPU has a passive cooling system...

Unable to upgrade to 11.2 from 11.1-u6

When I try and upgrade through the gui, the upgrade fails with the error messages below. It does seem to create the 11.2 environment, but if I try and use it, it hangs on "Booting". I have also tried using the USB/ISO upgrade method and I can get the drive to boot, but it also hangs on Booting.

I have attempted this multiple times with the same result (all old boot environments deleted to ensure there is enough space). I am running on a ASROCK q2900

Trying FreeNAS for first time. Built low end system (just a bit better hardware than low end Synology that can be a plex server) using ASRock J4105-ITX and 16G of ram. I have two 4TB HGSTs in a mirror with my Plex media dataset. I have a cheap WD SSD for my jails. Took a bit of study and youtube, but have plex installed and running fine. I'm using NFS between it and my Ubuntu Mate 18.04 build. I have the media folder mounted and am able to copy things to and from the FreeNAS fine...

So I'm in the process of doing a major storage upgrade on my FreeNAS 9.10.2-U4 box (see sig link for full specs), slowly transitioning from 8x4TB to 8x10TB (RAIDZ2). I've swapped out 2 disks so far, da0 and da1, with no issues and successful resilvers. So I have installed sonarr using the new GUI in the 11.2 nightlies. Everything gets installed fine and seems to be running fine. I mounted my media dataset to the jail. Sonarr can see it and browse it just fine. When I go to add existing series, sonarr tells me that I don't have permission to write to the directory. What can I replace an Ableconn PCIe 2.0 to SATA III card with?

My motherboard (full info in sig below) has only 6 SATA ports and I need 11. I've been using an Ableconn PEX10-SAT PCIe 2.0 to SATA III card for the 5 additional SATA ports I need, but I've tracked various problems with drives spontaneously dropping out of pools and CAM timeout errors down to this card. The errors occur mainly under heavy load, FWIW. Here's the latest one:

Good morning all. This is my first post here.

So I bought a Lenovo Thinkserver TS150, basic config (8GB RAM), running two 8TB mirrored HDs. Current version (latest stable).

The thing is, after a while without use (sometimes at the end of the day, sometimes early in the morning) my FreeNAS box will look like it went to sleep.

No computer will be able to access the shares, I can't ssh into it, and sometimes my Mikrotik router will show in the "DNS Server" page that there is no IP assigned...

Lost Data in Upgrade to 11.2

Tried to update via the GUI yesterday from 11-STABLE to 11.2-STABLE and something with the boot drive failed. Long story short I then installed 11.2 on a new drive, booted up to that, imported the old volumes, saw there was no share, added a SMB share to one of the data sets and then saw that it was entirely empty. The volumes imported and show all the right disks, names, and datasets, but there are no files in any of them. Help? One curious thing I noticed in the zpool history is that the...
