Cloud sync, Google drive token expiring

Good day everyone,

I'm having a bit of trouble getting Cloud sync to work with google drive. I was able too get my google drive token from https://developers.google.com/oauthplayground/
and get a scheduled sync working however It keeps failing giving me a status of ( FAILED:RCLOI ) my guess is that it is due to the token refreshing but im not 100% sure.
If this is the case how can i make my token last longer or use the refresh token to automatically create a new one? If i'm...

Strange behaviour when read over NFS

Hi everone,

I have a strange problem during these days when I tried to service jpg, png, gif files from freenas to nginx(ubuntu) over NFS.

I've never tried before service chunky files like png on NFS. When I bring online our systems to serve static content from freenas, write operations occurs on disks while only reading be in question.

I did not know whats under the hood in arc calculations. Maybe last access times of files should written on disks so these write operations comes from that...

Unable to add NFS share

I am unable to add an NFS share to my FreeNAS box.

Here is my exports list:-
Code:
root@S07:/# showmount -e 192.168.1.2
Exports list on 192.168.1.2:
/mnt/nas/tftproot Everyone
/mnt/nas/Web-Server/usr/src Everyone
/mnt/nas/FreeBSD-TEST Everyone
/mnt/nas Everyone

This is a home server so security is not a concern.

I want to add /mnt/nas/nfsroot as an NFS share. When I try and do so I get:-

FreeNAS 9.10 - Pool has extra disks with only option to "detatch" the extra's

Hi guys,

I was asked to take a look at a clients FreeNAS implementation and I ran into a few questions that the documentation didn't seem to discuss in detail. First off let me say I recognize 9.10 is quite an old build and yes we are in discussions with the client as to if they want to upgrade to the latest but as of right now this is what I have to work with. I was wondering if one of the experts here would be able to help out.

There are 2 odd/unhappy raid pools, raidz3-7 and raidz3-6...

NFS On Esxi 6.7 Causes VM To Stop Responding

So I've followed the excellent forum posts here about setting up and configuring FreeNas. I'm running it on a VM on Esxi host (Yes, I passed through the HBA controllers, and followed all the safety precautions). That part works wonderfully.

When I created an NFS share on my FreeNas 11.2 box, I mounted that share on my Esxi host, successfully, then went to use it for VM storage, and after a short time of read/writes to the vm it would lock up, and the nfs mount would become non-responsive...

jails, plugin, iocage, 11.2 >>> problem.

I am trying to migrate a Plex warden jail to a new iocage based PlexPass server. I can't get jails to work in FreeNAS-11.2-STABLE. I am seeing dozens of FreeNAS users with similar issues over the past 3 weeks. I've noticed many of these issues began after the upgrade to FreeNAS-11.2. Can we get some attention from some of our FreeNAS super users out there? I have looked at permissions, networking (DHCP vs VNET), upgrade trains, plugin vs cli installations, dataset configurations, etc and I'm...

Quick questions about ZFS space usage

Hi,

I received an alert that indicated that I was over 80% full on storage space on my ZFS pool.
So I went digging to find the issue. Turns out there was a .recycle folder that accumulated 892GB of storage.
Then I did a recursive remove on the folder, which is taking a while to remove.
But immediately in the FreeNAS interface I see the percentage drop to 68%.
How can it show that the space is available while it still had 700GB to delete still?

EDIT:
Oh and the dataset where I deleted the...

Freenas 11.2 U2.1 abysmal gui / system performance

Hello,
i'm running Freenas now for more than half a year in preparation to make the migration away from Unraid.
Specs:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1231 v3
Supermicro X10SLM-F
32GB ECC

I have 2 pools:

Mass Storage 14x4TB Raidz2
SSD Pool 3x240GB Raidz1

Boot drive 16GB USB3.0 / 64GB SSD SATA (upgraded from USB stick yesterday fresh install)
The boot drive and the SSDS are connected to the onboard SATA.
HDD pool is on a LSI HBA IT Mode

ESXi freenas slim built -reduce overhead

Hi folks, I am running an ESXi system with freenas and I would like to know if there is a version without all this jail/vm stuff.
I just would like to safe some resources.

Extension unit

Hallo,

Platten zu teuer. So habe ich mir etwas anderes überlegt und hierzu bräuchte ich Ratschläge;
vielleicht gibt es jemanden der so etwas schon gemacht hat.

SAMBA crashes while many reads occur

Hi community,

I'm using FreeNAS to share a directory over Samba to an amd64 device where a dockerized rTorrent instance is running.

rTorrent uses this share to either store downloaded or temporary files. When it's uploading (hence reading from the NAS) many files, the samba server close the client connection.
When it happens, I can see from the server the following logs (loglevel full):
Code:
[2019/03/16 13:38:23.047039, 1] ../source3/smbd/smb2_server.c:3918(smbd_smb2_io_handler)

Finally Building New Server

Hello im finally building a Real server I got a X8DTL-iF, LGA 1366 Motherboard am going to be running 2 Xeon E5620 4 Core Each. Is this a good setup ?

The volume [Name] state is DEGRADED: One or more devices could not be opened.

Hello Everybody,

Today I was cleaning my NAS Build and when powering it back on afterwards one drive was not showing up and this error was showing:
Code:
The volume Speicherplatz state is DEGRADED: One or more devices could not be opened. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue functioning in a degraded state.

I shut down the system and checked all the cabling, when powering on again the drive showed up but I still get the same error.

Running zpool Status returns this...

Recommended CPU & Motherboard for iSCSI

Okay so I got everything else ready, I need to know what CPU & Mboard you reccomend for an iSCSI setup for FreeNAS.

This machine is going to be an iSCSI target, and only an iSCSI for ESXI or whatever else wants to connect to it.

It's going to be a 30TB Raid 6, or RaidZfs2 in FreeNAS.

I need to know what CPU and Motherboard are recommended for this, I already have the RAM, and all the other parts.

I just don't want to buy the CPU and MB without knowing which is correct to get.
