I am trying to install Plex but I am getting an error:
Error: PlexMediaJail had a failure Exception: RuntimeError Message: pkg.FreeBSD.org could not be reached via DNS, check PlexMediaJail's network configuration Partial plugin destroyed

Hi all. I did a fresh install of 11.3 last night to try and fix another problem (unsuccessfully), and now I've run into another problem while trying to install plex server.

I went to Plugins, left the "Browse a Collection" drop-down at iXsystems, selected Plex Media Server (Version: 1.18.2.2058, not the beta), clicked Install. I gave the jail a name...

Bonjour à tous ,

Je demande de l'aide sur mon serveur Freenas qui tourne depuis de nombreuse années .
J'ai entrepris un upgrade de disque pour le faire évoluer , celui-ci s'applique à 2 disques en Raid1.

2*1To , je passe à 2*3To . J'ai changé les disques 1 à la fois et en attendant que la copie des données se "synchronise" .

Tout va bien , le seul et gros problème est que la taille de l'espace disque est encore de "1to"

Hi all - I've been rolling with my FreeNAS for about a year now and am loving it.

Since upgrading to 11.3, I've been going through and upgrading my HomeAssistant sensors to start reading from the new v2.0 API instead of the old v1.0 API.
I've managed to navigate the new REST API for everything I need (disk temps, alerts, etc) with the exception of two points:

1 - the CPU temp. Is anyone able to point me what API call I should be making to find this?
2 - the health of a pool. API 1.0...

I am evaulating FreeNAS for a home NAS. I plan on using iSCSI, NFS and Windows Shares. However I cannot get the Windows Shares to work as follows:
Currently the NAS is running under VMWare with 3*200GB virtual disks as a single pool
Version of FreeNAS is 11.3-U2
Basic Config is to set up timezone, NTP etc and then join the domain

Active Directory
I have attached the NAS to the domain. Note that everytime the NAS is rebooted the domain join part is Faulted. I have to manually leave...

I've installed a server (specs below) and it works but it hangs for 2-3 sec a lot. I wonder how I can make it run smoother. I thought of adding a cache but seems like write cache is usually not beneficial with smb shares. The whole db is about 30GB and they are about 8 users. the LAN max speed is 100Mbits.
The previous server was ok and I'm quite sure it had slower specs and ran on linux.
I would really appreciate your help on this. They are convinced freenas is the problem...

I just had to RMA two SSD's because they died after 10 months of Zoneminder video data processing taking place on them. This resulted in more than 400TiB of write activity. First thing that came to mind was to move the memory map file used for this to my HDD pool but to be honest, no storage media is made for 20MB/s continuous write 24x7. Hi everyone.

Been lurking around the forums for years now, but now it's time to actually post something as well. (First post ever, yay!!

I have recently replaced our switches for a couple of new ones, with extra 10G ports I could attach our FreeNAS system to. Since the new switches has been introduced in our network, we have seen a lot of dropouts in connecticity. We're using the FreeNAS box as an iSCSI target with a couple of ESXi servers as initiators. This has been working flawlessly...

I run a freshly installed FreeNAS 11.3-U1 on a HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 with 16 GB of RAM and 4 x 4 TB harddisks configured as RAIDZ2 with an imported config file from an older version. I boot from a TrekStor i.Gear Prime 64 GB USB SSD drive.

The first update failed.

See attached screenshots. Any idea?

When I try to move files, I get the message "These files may be harmful to your computer." How to configure the freenas network settings so that this message is not displayed? I had Synology and there was no such message. The files are secure because it is an empty folder

Hi, Current stable FreeNAS server, but I want/need a windows machine. I have tried adding a Win10 VM but the performance sucks/doesn't really function at all.

Q. IS there a tweak to the current server to improve performance, (e.g. as one example, would putting VM on an single SSD help etc)

or

Q. What is the current sweet spot for a home FreeNAS self build Mobo/CPU to support Win10 VM (lets assume I have other hardware already). Flexible but current budget range thoughts around...

This probably won't be of use to most people, but for the rare few who are still using HP microservers (N54L, N40L), I thought I'd post this.

The old thread (https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/wake-on-lan.13508) is now locked, and the old file doesn't work for FreeNAS 11.2. Since I couldn't quite find a nice easy replacement for if_bge.ko that supported WOL, I decided to patch the existing FreeBSD...

Hi,

I've seen that the ACME DNS challenge is built into the FreeNAS GUI which is very nice.
However, currently there is only one provider available: "Route53"

I don't know which ACME client FreeNAS uses, but acme.sh can use APIs of many providers including INWX.

Is it possible to add another provider (e.g. INWX)...
