Dell PowerEdge T710 for home server

I am planning my first FreeNAS home server and found an upgraded Dell PowerEdge T710 for US$550.00 that looks interesting. The server needs to run Plex, Nextcloud, Logitech Media Server (if a version exists that will run on FreeNAS) and it will be used as a file server in an mixed MacOS/Windows 10/Linux/IoT network. In the future I may add a security camera server that monitors a mix of 7 - 8 2.1MP and 4.2MP cameras. I have Netgear switches that support link aggregation.

Unable to boot FreeNAS installer on Dell R730XD - USB errors and mrsas0 errors

Hi,

I have a Dell R730XD server, and I'm trying to boot FreeNAS on it. The machine has been updated to the latest Dell firmware (as of October 2019).

I've tried with both FreeNAS 11.2-U6, as well as the latest nightly FreeNAS 11.3 ISO, and neither seem to boot up.

This is the console output from the installer:

Hello lovely ixcom,
I am totally new to FreeNAS. I got ZoneMinder run, Cameras work, I understand.
But first, when I get the permission and mounting done, everything fine and Cameras are recording. Do I change the Permission afterwards, Cameras stop recording. Without mounting its running perfect but the Files are in the Jail.

The point is, I want to use the SMB to share on my main pc. I need to set permission right? If I do, I can watch but not delete. Except I login as root Acc. And I...

I have a FreeNAS computer running for 4 years or so with no problems. All of a sudden it is booting to a EFI Shell.

First I see ....

Jackett issue: could not add losslessclub indexer; SSL connection could not be established

Running FreeNAS 11.3-U3.2

I have Jackett installed as a jail (mono version 6.8.0.96). For the most part I have not encountered issues except for adding losslessclub as an indexer.
Whenever I add it, I get an error that "The SSL connection cound not be establised..."

I have tried to add this indexer on a Jackett installed on a Windows machine and it runs completely fine. Afaik, this is only an issue on my FreeNAS jail...

Hi All,

I'm new to FREENAS and am running version 11.3-U3.2 on a custom machine. I'm struggling with getting home shares to work properly; it must be some sort of really stupid issue as I've spent hours on forums to try to find the solution to my problem and I found no post dealing with a similar matter...

The problem I have is that, although I can see the home shares created for each users through Windows...

It seems that iX is really pimping the Asigra plugin (blog post), but I haven't seen a comprehensive guide anywhere on how to go from "basic FreeNAS system" to "Asigra installed, running, and backing up your data". Is there one that I'm missing?

From what I can see so far, the process looks like:
  • Install the plugin
  • Add storage to the plugin (where? Or does it matter?)
  • Register the plugin, requiring use of a company...

I have a jail that I'm working on recreating after I foolishly deleted it. So I had initially created it with the name "Test" while I played around with getting things set up the way I wanted again.

Now we're pretty close to the finish line on getting it all set up but I can't get it to change its name from "Test". That is to say, the uuid changes properly in the jail interface and the commands for iocage have adapted to the new name. However, once logged into a console session I get...

Hello,

This seems really odd and I can't figure out what to do. I have several iocage jails running fine and then after a router reboot, Tautulli would not let me access the webui. I found that the jail couldn't start. I deleted the jail and tried to create it again but it kept having the same issue, I went down the path of upgrading from 11.2 to 11.3 U3.2 and also upgraded all my jails (thankfully most went smooth with the exception of transmission which took some time to fix). après avoir utilisé un systeme raid5 hybride intel avec mon pc pendant plus de dix ans et qui a planté méchamment en début d'année, je me suis dit qu'il était temps de passer à un système plus serieux

Hi there,
I run my own business and have been using FreeNAS on an HP Proliant Microserver for over a year but it just sits there. The factory HDD suddenly died and I had no solution. I use FreeNAS for Windows CIFS fileshares and to date there's no easy way to get Acronis/Crashplan or any other regular backup solutions to work. I'm fairly technical but FreeNAS is my first Linux based adventure. Thus, all the forums are very confusing.

So.
I have an exiting zfs drive.

I am thinking about simplifying my network. I have 2 supermicro servers running with similar specs running. One with Plex and one with Nextcloud and i am wondering if i could have only one running hosting both?

Specs: Supermicro X8SIL-F, Xeon L3426, 32 GB ECC RDIMM, LSI HBA, Dell MD1000 with 15 x 2Tb SAS HDD's.

Dear community members,
first off I want to say thank you for all the great stuff I was already allowed to read on this forum. It helped me a lot in many cases, but now unfortunately I am stuck and need to ask you directly for help.

In short: I can upload stuff to my FreeNAS-server with almost 10Gbit/s but when downloading stuff I never exceed 3Gbit/s.

Note: Is seem sto be most likely no ZFS or zpool issue since i am testing with [FONT=courier...[/COLOR]
