Recent Upgrade to TrueNAS- Network adapter reduced to 100BaseTX

My mainboard is a Supermicro 10slm with 2 Gigabit network connections enabled (igb0 and igb1). While troubleshooting communication with the NAS was slow, I noticed that igb0 reported being 100baseT, which, in turn, explained why iperf reported only getting 96Mbit/s transfer rate. I don't know why this adapter is stuck at 100Mb/s. I was able to swapped the ip address to the other adapter and throughput is now reported at 940Mb/s.

I wonder if this is a coincidence, or something related to...

==== This is a Lab environment

Currently running 3 ESXi hosts connected via NFSv3 connected via 10GBE on each host and a 2x 10GBE LAG on truenas. I do not have performance issues.

Recently a vendor came in and deployed a new hyper converged system that runs off NFSv3 and 8k block.

reading more about where vmware is going, looks like iSCSI or NFSv4 are the ways to go.

How is TrueNas hardware deployed (what protocol)?
What is everyone else using?

TrueNAS - Configured Network Interface issue - cannot connect to NAS server on network

Hi,

I Installed True NAS on my server, and "1. Configured Network Interface" settings for IPv4 with:
IPv4 Address: 192.168.2.5
Netmask: 24
After restarting the network, I cannot connect to the server on network using the IP address, confirming that it cannot be reached by issuing a Ping command.

Does anyone have and advice to resolve this issue?

Thank you.

Clueless about multipath, how to create new pool?

I have hardware from iX that supports multipath. The pool was already configured when I bought it, so I never needed to figure out the multipath stuff, but now I have 2 new SSDs that I want to make a new mirrored pool out of.

The docs say very little about multipath, and so I'm not at all sure how to proceed.

1) do the disks need to be physically connected into certain bays?

2) do I just create a pool as usual?

3) what do I do in Storage > Multipaths? It appears to be a read-only UI...

I updated my bios last night and perhaps I shouldn't. I tried to login to my system today and it was extremely slow. From the ipmi I managed to capture the shot below. Essentially this was repeating over and over. I tried to reboot and it is still very slow. The second screenshot if after I typed reboot from an ssh session that finally loaded. Thanks in advance for the help.

New to the network world other than basic configs and have been trying to get OpenVPN Server up and running on Truenas 12.0-U2 for a connection to my iPhone. Followed an online tutorial recently and am now able to create the connection from my server to the iPhone from outside of my network. I am able to ping my phone from within shell of the NAS, however I can't ping anything from my phone back to the NAS. I have tried a bunch of different things found online, but so far have not hit on the...

Switched motherboards, had to create a new boot disk, no backup config

I had an issue with my old motherboard failing.
I bought a replacement motherboard that is the exact same, added all the components, tried to boot, and got an I/O error.
I assumed (incorrectly) that my thumbdrive was the issue. I wiped it to install a new copy of Freenas.
After much monkeying around, I've got Freenas up and running, but I've lost my configuration (because why would I need to backup something when I'm switching to the same hardware /s).

Currently the main issue I'm...

Hello Everyone

I have x2 3TB drives one striped so the data is backed up the current drives are not nas drives I know nas drive last long with this usage. I have now ordered x 2 4TB wd red drivers I wont to replace them with the 3TB drives. I would like advice on how to tell what drive is faulty. and how to swop the drives over

I have just noticed an issue with my FreeNAS server says that it is degraded I think this might be one of the hard drives I have taken a number of screenshots...

Enable Let's Encrypt SSL in Nextcloud on FreeNAS

First off, apologies I don't explain everything perfectly, I will try my best.
Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Prerequisites:

Must have a FQDN that points to your outside IP address, duckdns.org is a good place to start.
Test this by pinging your FQDN ("ping example.duckdns.org") from the internet and check that it resolves to your outside IP.

MUST HAVE port forwarded :80 and :443 on your router to your NextCloud jail IP.
If not cert creation will fail.

Instructions:

1. SSH...

Reversing an extend operation

Hi all,

I have a small NAS for my home just to mess around, 4x4TB IronWolves, SSD boot in a mirror and had another SSD for jails. Today I added an LSI 9211 card, flashed it, all went well. I wanted to mirror the jails pool to a new SSD I hooked up the card and installed (same brand and size).

I somehow thought that the extend operation will do this. Of course, it added the new disk as additional space and striped it. :(

Is there any way to reverse this, or is my only recourse to blow...

Removed vdev Log drive - Now shows incorrect (smaller) size in BIOS

I'm new to TrueNAS and Linux/Debian in general. My Drobo died a while back, so I've been playing with TrueNAS since the 12.0 U1 release came out.

As I was playing around with my first TrueNAS build, I created a RAID-z2 pool with 5x 5TB data drives and a spare 4TB VDEV ZFS LOG drive (since I could not add it as a data drive in the z2 pool, and it was already physically installed in the system - I just had to use it for something!). It worked, but I decided to start over on a new faster...

Hi,

Version: TrueNAS-12.0-U1.1
32GB RAM
2x XEON E5450
RACKABLE System with Areca SATA controller (data disks all in pass-thru mode)

I had six data disks in "Pool1". One of them failed. I accidentally pulled the wrong disk to replace, realized my mistake and put it back, but now Pool1 is Offline:
