Hi all,

I'm hoping that the collective can help here with what seems to be a regression of performance in my setup. I'll try to be as concise as possible.

Specs within:

For the HW:

2x E5-2697 v2 server with 256GB RAM
Brodcom 9305 HBA
8x WD60EFRX
6x WD30EFRX
Chelsio T4 NIC
ESXi 6.7

For the Truenas VM:
12.0-U2.1
12x CPU
128GB RAM
No SLOG
HBA passthrough
Disks above setup as 7x mirror VDEVs
3x datasets
-Media (1M record size)
-My storage (default 128k record size)...

Hi,
Normally, on my docker server, I like to set multiples IPs and dedicate IP to most of my docker.
I did not find any option to set multiples IP on my interface in TrueNAS Scale. Is it possible ? Maybe only via CLI ?

Hello everybody,

it looks like something in the configuration file cannot be sliced in or has problems starting with the settings.
Because it seems to be installed, it deletes everything after the installation has failed.

Unfortunately I didn't find anything suitable here in the forum on the topic and wanted to ask if anyone has an idea how to solve this.

I updated the Plex pkg and noticed this note:

Hi All,

I am having issues loading the i915 driver and noticed that in the loader.conf that i915kms is blacklisted.

cat /boot/defaults/loader.conf | grep -i 915
module_blacklist="drm drm2 radeonkms i915kms amdgpu" # Loader module blacklist

When I remove drm and i915kms and reboot I do see both drivers with kldstat but not the /dev/dri* devices as when I manually load :
kldload /boot/modules/i915kms.ko

If I unload/load I get a crash/reboot.

What worked is : rc.conf...

we're running two TrueNas 12 instances, and both of them have an issue with "an unexpected network error has occured" when we use them with windows over SMB. nowhere ever does this issue arise with our windows machine when we're doing windows-to-windows transfers.

this is a rather vague error. how would one dig into getting more information regarding this issue? are there detailed windows or TrueNAS logs one can extract? can't really work with errors; these machines are expected to sever...

Hi all,

I've been running A small server since about freenas 8 but never really delved under the hood too much.
I just run a basic file server and a plex instance.
One thing that always bothered me Is my video storage area has never reported size correctly. It is actually a few TB.

I also notice the Type is different. This is not something I have done intentionally.

Can anyone advise me if the reporting is an easy fix?

Hi,
I'm on Windows 10 Enterprise.
Freenas 11.3-U5

May i know why I am unable to map a shared drive from my W10 Enterprise?
In Windows, when the user logon prompted, I keyed in '\myuser and put in the password, it says incorrect userid & password.
But I can use the same userid to login to SSH

In Windows Powershell, i tried this command
$ net use z: \\192.168.1.110\Data /user:myuser

I was trying to test Scale on my main server that is currently Core. I use a LSI 9201-16e to connect to my disk shelfs but none of the disks would show up. I think Scale is missing the drivers for it. Is there anyway to add the driver for it to scale.

Running TrueNAS-12.0-U2.1 with Plex media server and Chromecast Ultra connected to a wired 1Gbit Cat6 connection. There is no transcoding and I'm streaming a low 10Mbps (1MB/s), yet the video played on my TV is jittery, is like every few seconds there are few frames missing. The audio plays properly in sync. Playing the file directly from NAS on my Mac is perfect, no jittering,

Any idea how to fix this? It is extremely annoying and quite unwatchable...

So I'm just putting this here as a major piece of luck and might save another member hassle with drive failure.

I am here to get some techincal advice on trueNAS.
Currently, I am building three Virtualbox systems
- one trueNAS for iSCSI, one client1 (window server 2019) and
one client2 (window server 2019) to test faileover functions.

With help of many youtube channels, I managed to start iSCSI service

I just wanted to report back my findings after my Asrock c2750d4i board froze one day after about 4 years of flawless service with ESXI (and freeNAS initially).
The unit restarted fine but froze again after a couple of hours and then it wouldn't start. I could access the IPMI interface but that only displayed 3 voltages.

Ich stelle meine HDD hier auf lesen und schreiben

Sobald ich die NAS ausschalte oder einen Neustart durchführe springt er automatisch auf "nur lesen" um.
Das passiert auch nur bei dieser einen Platte.
Gibt es da eine Möglichkeit das dauerhaft auf schreiben/lesen zu stellen (den Button "speichern" habe ich angeklickt)

Just had one of my two LSI 9211-8i cards fail last night - hard crash while scrubbing. Moved a SAS cable around to put all my drives onto the remaining HBA and blammo, she booted right up without any errors at all. Ordered a spare from ebay JIC ($45).

Once again, TrueNAS and ZFS is shown to be reliable and resilient.
