Is there any guides or info on how to set up a multi node system?
I have 3 file servers in operation connected through a 40GBE switch. One is a Norco 4224 with 24 drives running Nappit, a Supermicro with 36 drives running FreeNAS v11 and a Chenbro with 45 drives running FreeNAS v11.3. I also have a another server with Open Media Vault that isn't being used at the moment.
I am interested in the idea of setting up a cluster using TrueNAS scale when the stable version is released but there doesn't seem to be much info on TrueNAS scale and how to setup nodes...
Is there any guides or info on how to set up a multi node system?

Curious.
Is the plan for people to migrate a CORE deployment to SCALE ?
had a loo at Scale and really like what I saw, but it crashed a couple of times on me, so ye def not ready to run the house on, yet. But would def like to look at it when it is more stable.

POOL STORAGE SIZE CLARIFICATION
Hi, new to TrueNas I need some clarification on pool sizes:
I've setup a DELL R620 box with 10 x 1TB hard drive in RAID-Z3. So total size would give in usable capacity 5.85 TiB.
I've created a block volume of 2.5 TiB for ISCSI vmware datastore, so why is it now 3.35 TiB used and avail 4.70 TiB? Why (used+avail) = 8.05 Tib?

OS Flash Drive Failed - Need to recover with new install and no config backup
To just get it out of the way; I am a moron.
Without realizing it, I moved the VM with my config backups onto the ZFS storage unit. I had dual SANDisk Flash Drives running the OS FreeNAS 11. Both seem to have failed, and I don't think I can read them at all.
I know there's lots of posts already about this, but I'm so nervous, I wanted to start a clean thread to ensure I don't do something to make things worse.

VM Windows 10 Drivers / Guest Tools
I installed Windows 10 on a VM in SCALE-21.02-ALPHA.1
For the NIC i chose VirtIO. I was able to install the driver for the NIC with the virtio-win-0.1.190 ISO.
But there seems to be no driver for VNC, because i can't change the the screen resolution on the guest system. It's only 800x600 and tiny on a 4k display.
Is there a guest-tools suite available? I can't find any documentation on this.

Scale nightly's showing an extra thread
Has anyone else noticed that the Nightly's are showing an extra thread for the cpu and no usage or temp data. testing on an old AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor showing 9 Threads and AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X 12-Core Processor showing 25 threads

no pull replication from freenas to truenas.
We would like to update Freenas to TrueNAS but make a replication backup first.
So we'd like to go from FreeNAS-11.3-U1 to TrueNAS-12.0-U2.1.
But nothing gets replicated
I configured a replication backup as below on TrueNAS to pull it from Freenas.
Like below :

Nothing gets replicated, nothing gets logged in (/var/logs/ ... )
Neither does manual replication work.
The hosts do resolve the job shows as finished.

2 truenas systems-how to sync site1dataset1->site2dataset2 & site2dataset1->site1dataset2
Have 2 TrueNAS systems, each with 2 datasets in case one gets attacked by ransomware. TrueNAS at site 1 will have site 1's data on dataset1, and TrueNAS at site 2 will have site 2's data on dataset1. I want to create a cross-site sync:
syncing site 1's dataset1 with site 2's dataset2
syncing site 2's dataset1 with site 1's dataset2
Each site's dataset2 will be the backup of the other site's dataset1.

So I'm just putting this here as a major piece of luck and might save another member hassle with drive failure.
I made 2 mistakes after reading an article recently stating you could expand storage with old drives. Sooooo I bought a 4tb enterprise drive off Fleabay 2nd hand.
That's mistake number 1
I ran the drive in my nas for a week to "run in" and perform smart tests. All good.

Unable to install qBittorrent search plugins
I have installed qBittorrent via the Community plugin.
I have more or less the problem described here: https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/qbittorrent-plugin-search-engine-dont-work.77872/
Like I do normally on qBittorrent, I tried the “Check for updates” button to populate the Search plugins list, and nothing happened.
I tried “Install new plugin” via URL and nothing happened.
I have tried this fix...

MiniDLNA stottert. Wie kann ich den buffer von ffmpeg erhöhen?
Mein PC hat nunmehr keinen "Flaschenhals. Truensas 12 mit raidz2 für daten pool (11% belegt), ssd für OS und jails. 16 GB Ram, AMD Phenom 4x (der kaum belastet wird. Gigabyte ethernet.
Und doch: Wenn ich auf einen Loewe Art über dlan (1200) streame wird für alle film (außer extrem kleinen Files mit hoher Komprimierung) immer dieses Problem sichtbar. Am Anfang alles in Ordnung dann, ca alle 20 Minuten kurzes langsames abspielen und stottern (Ton). Danach wieder für 20 Minuten alles Ok...

After failed reinstall FreeNAS no longer boots
Attempted to fix an error by reinstalling and have made the problem worse (or maybe I should say, created a whole new problem). FreeNAS will no longer boot.
Had FreeNAS 11.3-U1 installed and running for about 6 months with no issues. Had just been using for file storage and was going to log into the UI to install/configure Plex. The login box which I had used many times in the past was not there, only the background image loaded. Tried several computers and several browser, same result...

Install error 1962 No operating system found on Lenovo thinkcentre
Hello all.
I am new to Freenas and this forum. The only experience i have with the nas universe is a old Qnap where everything is done for you, for better and worse :)
I have searched this forum for my perticular problem but have come up empty so I hope that this post is not missplaced.
I gotten my hands on a Lenovo Thinkcentre M72e and thought I would try and make it function as a Nas because it has waaay better specs than the old Qnap.
I followed the installation guide to the letter...

Just got a Lenovo think center m92 to start into the NAS field. I burned the iso image initially with Rufus. Managed to install truenas fairly easy. But I seem to have an issue on reboot when it shows no operating system found.
I fiddled with the bios, changing boot mode from auto to legacy but it just does the same thing and it won’t even boot into the USB installer. Tried both UEFI and BIOS when installing truenas with no luck. I tried searching but it seems others have...

Freenas MINI - boot from SSD
I am in the process of replacing a failed SATA DOM (SSD) device (after about 1.5 years of use). This did not leave a real positive impression of that technology so I decided to just replace it with a more conventional SSD drive.
After following the instructions on https://www.ixsystems.com/documentation/freenas/11.2/install.html , I was able to install a fresh copy of OS to a new inexpensive 120GB PNY SSD drive. This all worked as expected.
