Hey folks! Quick update today, we know some users have been bitten by the issue with unsupported Feature Flags on zpool import on SCALE. We've since started gathering more information on this problem, how to detect it and how to resolve here:

We'll update with more information as we go, if additional solutions present themselves.

Note: This is unrelated to the issue with importing pools where SMB +...

Confused about network GUI

Hi

I'm probably missing something obvious but bear with me...

In my network summary I see this

Screenshot 2022-02-12 at 11.44.54.png

while clicking on EDIT for bnxt0 I get this

Screenshot 2022-02-12 at 11.45.38.png

I would have expected to see the statically defined IP(s) ? Is this the expected behaviour ? If so how do I go about editing my network settings ?

Aufbau von neuem System - Fallstricke

Hallo zusammen,

Was ich benötige:

Was the ability to change the default certification removed in Scale? or relocated elsewhere? (In core, iirc, it used to be under General > Settings. Scale does not seem to have the option)

Multipath disks in Scale RC.2?

$

I just migrated my pools over to Scale RC.2 on a new box, and noticed none of my disks are being seen as multipath (they were under latest CORE; have been configured that way about 2 years).

Is there a plan to add disk multipathing to SCALE? Am I missing something? Typical Linux commands to identify multipath disks are not available, and I see nothing in dmesg or /dev/disk that indicates there are multiple paths available for the disks in my enclosure.

Thanks.

Truenas 12.0 U8 stuck on Boot loading my LSI HBA

After my Upgrade to 12.0 U8, the truenas instance seems not to be able to boot - it seems to stuck forever mounting the LSI with 1-2 Cores maxed out.
Any ideas? Already dismounted the PCIe device and Truenas loaded like it should.

This release seem to have a critical bug.

Help would be appreciated. Need to boot up at least the elder release else my data is not accessible.
Thanks!

Scale Hardware Error / Memory failure dmesg, unscheduled restarts

I am trying to use Scale on my NAS.

I am using AsRock B450M-F and Ryzen 3600 and 4x 32GB Mustang 2666Mhz ECC UDIMM memory.

I am getting random restarts, I was able to reproduce them immediately with:
Code:
stress-ng -c 18 -i 8 -m 8 --vm-bytes 1G -t 3600s

Nothing in logs.

When I lowered the memory speed to 2400Mhz, restarts disappeared with stress-ng, but I am getting this in log:
Code:
[ 82.052153] mce: Uncorrected hardware memory error in user-access at 151137d40
[ 82.052157] mce...

Replication task to none FreeNAS system (but has ZFS)

Hello,

I have two servers (SOHO) where one system runs FreeNAS (FreeNAS-11.3-U4) and another system runs Proxmox for VM's. The Proxmox server has 3X3TB drives using ZFS, the pool version is 5000, ZFS file system version 5, this is also being used as an archive/backup server for all of the data on the FreeNAS system. Currently I manually create snapshots around once per month on the FreeNAS system and run an incremental "zfs send" to the ZFS file system on the Proxmox server.

This all...

SCALE: Connection refused to docker containers from localhost only

I have created a docker registry container in order to be able to deploy customer containers on my new TrueNAS SCALE server.

The container is configured to forward host port 15000 to container port 5000. This works fine to make the registry accessible to other hosts on my network -- I was able to push an image from my laptop just fine.

But when I log into TrueNAS and try to pull the image so I can deploy it, I get a connection refused error. This also occurs when trying curl...

Unscheduled System Reboot

I am running TrueNAS-12.0-U8, but this has been going on for a few months now (about six or more). I am still a newbie at this and it's driving me insane. This is random, but it seems like it's been happening about anywhere from two to six times a week. My TrueNAS server has unscheduled system reboots. I've only had my system running for about a year and a half (if that) and the hardware is all new. I'm on a UPS which is also new. I had SMART tests done in TrueNAS on all of the drives with...

Issue with 12.0 U7/U8 and SMB share mount permissions

Hello,

I've got a file server running TrueNAS 12.0 U6 just swimmingly at my work, love it.
We also have an old Fedora 14 Linux server (can't be upgraded for legacy reasons) mounting one of the SMB shares from the file server using fstab.

I've previously upgraded the file server from FreeNas 11 through to TrueNas 12.0 up to 12.0-U6 without issues previously. However, upgrading to U7 or U8 causes an issue with the mount on the Fedora box.

Currently, the share mounts with full read/write...

NFS share can't be mounted after TrueNAS reboot

Very similar to this issue: https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/nfs-share-not-mounting-after-freenas-reboot.75489/
but occurring on latest TrueNAS (12.0-U3.1).

The weird thing is I have 5 other shares which work fine. 3 of those 5 are configured the exact same way with similar ACLs. If I log into the web GUI, disable the share, save, then re-enable the share, and save, it works from that point on, until the next reboot.

On a Linux (Ubuntu) client trying to mount the share...

IBM DS3524

I have a SAS9207-8e adapter and an IBM DS3524 disk shelf.

The LSI adapter has been flashed to IT mode so it’s running as a HBA.

My question is the DS3524 compatible with the LSI controller?

I’ve been able to configure two arrays on the DS3524 and been able to access them, they show up and writes work fine.

Additionally is there a way to configure the DS3524 so it truly acts as a pass through like a Netapp DS4243 with direct access to the drives.

Installing Scale onto Dell Internal Dual SD Module

$

Howdy community,

I recognize that the documentation strongly advises against installing Scale (or Core for that matter) onto flash media like USB sticks however, I'm running a Dell PowerEdge with the Internal Dual SD Module.

Outside the fact TrueNAS will prematurely wear out my SD Cards, because the Dual SD module mirrors in Raid 1, providing I keep the config backed up in a safe place and accept the risk that both SD cards could go at the same time, is there really any other reason why I...
