I have two FREENAS-MINI-2.0, and a FREENAS-MINI-XL. The largest capacity drives I am currently using are 8TB WD drives.

I'd like to know if I can use WD's WD181KFGX 18TB drives (4 in each Mini and 8 in the Mini-XL). If I can't use these, what are the largest I *can* use?

Don't want to lay out the cash on something I can't use ...

Hi team,

Confused by this...

Truenas Core -> VM -> Ubuntu Mate -> I have a pool/size of 660gb...



But when in the OS... it says I have only 108GB capacity? 80 odd gig left?



Is that an issue? I want it to be 660gb... how do I fix this?

I have a scale 22.02 system with 32G of ram and about 12TB usable space (18TB raw). When I first installed I saw the cache memory usage usually around 15G, which was as expected as half the system memory. I've now created a couple of VMs and I have noticed that the zfs cache is limited to half the system memory minus any memory given to vms. I see SCALE has docker-compose which I'm currently using to run some containers after getting scale running on a QNAP TS-653D (Upgraded to 20gb ram)
This was mostly done out of laziness as I copied the container config from the configs I was using on QTS, but also I'd rather not use K3s since whilst it's lightweight for kubernetes it still adds a fair bit of CPU usage and overhead and at the moment i'm not doing anything where I feel the extra overheads of running Kubernetes are justifiable...

The Secondary TrueNAS server is a fresh build with only three datasets (data, storage, virtual). Replication is a PUSH from the Primary to the Secondary using SSH as the Transport. There are some child dataset exclusions. The first replication runs with no issues however, subsequent runs fail with the error below. I can delete the Dataset and the replication will run with success the first time again but fail on the second run.

Hi,
Is there software available which would clone my boot SSD to a USB stick? I realize after I built my latest NAS that I had a single point of failure which was the boot drive. I do not have any more SATA ports without adding a PCI card. I was thinking if I could setup a routine that would weekly or monthly do a full copy of my boot drive to a USB stick (that would be bootable) I would have fault tolerance if my boot drive ever fails or corrupts. i have installed truenas scale 22.02 rc2 on my nas, and i cannot get bridge working fine after many efforts.

here is what i have done:

1, using web ui.

I am running TrueNas Scale on a server I built (It is a very good one so I don't think there will be any hardware issues).
hello, first ill give a little background, before I bought my server I made sure I can install nextcloud and transfer files directly through a shared folder with windows,
that means I had the option to transfer files into that folder in the Truenas dataset and I was able to see it in nextcloud GUI.

My server is as follows: with 2 4 TB HDH mirrored thus being 3.51 TiB avabale for data. What services would you consider a must have on your TrueNAS (SCALE) server?

I am playing with NextCloud and Plex. Not sure what i am doing as I am new to the whole TureNAS thing.

As I've explained in another post/thread here, there is an issue with snapshots being created for ix-applications dataset and its child datasets. I mean in under a year with moderate to light use, my TrueNAS Scale server has over 47 thousand snapshots created. Yeah, you read that right - it's 47502 snapshots, out of which the boot pool snapshots taken on upgrade/update account for 5 entries and there's roughly 48 snapshots correctly managed through the Data Protection functionality...
