single "Read Errors" on different drives

I just built a 12x4TB Nas out of old server parts as many do, and have started filling it with data. After filling it I moved a bit of data between Datasets, and thats when 2 drives each got a single "read" error in "zpool status"... I cleared it, moved some more data, and another drive or two got a single "read" error... I cleared it again and initiated a manual scrub to have everything checked, now 2 other drives got a single "read" error

Increase upload max size in NextCloud Jail in TrueNas

Hi all, I just setup my TrueNas system and installed NextCloud plugin. I also installed the App in my iPad and tried auto upload photos and videos. Everything works fine until I found a few files just won’t upload. When I checked the log file, I found the following error for the files which failed:

I am new to TrueNAS, went with directly TrueNAS Scale version (TrueNAS-SCALE-22.02.0.1).
Have created a dataset named media and added SMB service as well for it.

My folder structure under media goes like movies,music etc.

What i wanted to setup here is as follow,
1) Assign access to the dateset media for more than 1 groups that created.
group truenasusers to have access to the SMB
group root to continue be the ownergroup

Nextcloud SQL Problems

I just want to get to the command line for SQL(mariadb). I have nextcloud installed as an application. No SQL commands work in system shell or applications pod shell. Nextcloud has SQL(mariadb) or it work not be working. I did read the Database configuration doc on the nextcloud website and found four different types of database configs. I tested all four commands of system shell or applications pod shell with anything happening. How do I connect to this part of my application?

Home Assistant in VM unable to resolve .local

Hi,

Just migrated my Proxmox stuff to TrueNAS Scale and really satisfied. Last challenge I ran into was that my Home Assistant using ESPHome was unable to resolve .local hosts to their IP addresses. This is for example used by the ESPHome plugin if you don't want to assign all fixed IP to your devices.

After some digging I found that also in TrueNAS shell I was unable to ping xxxx.local and the cause was found in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file which did not contain an mdns entry in the hosts...

Hello community,

I hope my message finds everyone well. I have a question about my TrueNAS build. I am new to the whole topic of TrueNAS and ZFS. I might have shot myself in the foot with the build I put together, maybe, possibly?!

My ZFS pool status shows as “DEGRADED”.

Two out of five drives show a high checksum, and 1 error while scrubbing the pool.

Столкнулся с такой проблемой, не могу зайти на веб интерфейс нас хранилища. Побывал ставить версии 13.0 RC-1 та 12.0 U8. Проблема не решалась. Позже поискавши на форуме, предположил, что проблема в сетевой карте, в моей материнской палате (MSI X570) встроена сетевая карта Realtek RT8125B. Не подскажете, в версии 13.0 RC-1 по прежнему нет драйверов для данной сетевой карты, или проблема уже в чем-то другом.Заранее спасибо.

Hello All,

I'm trying to build a bare metal Dell PowerEdge R710 NAS; I have a PCIe B-Key M.2 adapter, and a M+B key M.2 NVMe SSD that I was able to install TrueNAS Core onto.

The issue I'm running into is that the web portal to manage the host is not available. I'm thrown a " The web interface could not be accessed.
Please check network configuration" after looking up this error it looks like it's pointing to the brand of SSD I'm using Vaseky brand M.2

Installed Apps and Docker Container gone after reboot; Kubernetes is not running

Hi,

I've installed a few apps and docker container and this was running fine until I had to shutdown the system (to add a UPS).
And after starting the system back up, none of the container went back online and the Applications Tab says that the "Applications are not running".

TrueNAS Storage Pool Question

I am thinking of moving from a Synology DS1520+ NAS to TrueNAS Core running on a PC build. The Synology has 7x12TB drives in a RAID 6 configuration for a usable capacity of 52.4TB, of which I am using about 20.5TB. I was hoping to keep the cost of the planned build down.

My question is: Can I start off creating a Storage Pool in a "stripe" layout with (2) 12TB drives and then once I migrate the data from the Synology to the TrueNAS, wipe the existing drives... add them to the TrueNAS pool...

Hi, I have to report a problem on the iSCSI wizard when try to upgrade or clean install to SCALE 22.02.1 on a proxmox as a VM, when I step by step to fill the information followed by the iSCSI wizard, after all submitted and start to creation but the wizard will continue to keep to show to reloading screen and no further message shown, and I try to wait a few minute but I see the iSCSI page is no iSCSI configuration created in the WebUI, but manual create iSCSI configuration is no problem.

I'm struggling with the selection of my new TrueNAS hardware. I already decided that I want to go with a Supermicro board and a Xeon CPU. However, I'm trying to reach an idle power consumption of Mainboard + CPU + HBA + 8x HDD of maximum 130 watts (this is what my current Non-TrueNAS system with an Core i5 + Windows is consuming).

Hallo,

gibt es Möglichkeiten die "Shadow Copy" unter Linux zu nutzen, wenn das Linux System per SMB auf die Freigaben zugreift?
Ich finde das Feature nämlich recht praktisch und würde es auch gerne auf meinen Linux Geräten einsetzten.
