I'm deprecating my old TrueNAS CORE machine and trying to replicate all its various jails and whatnot on my new TrueNAS SCALE build. So far, I'm loving it! However, I've run into a problem when trying to migrate my "zwavejs2mqtt" plugin: my USB device that works just fine in CORE isn't recognized by my SCALE machine.

After plugging in my device, `dmesg` on the SCALE machine displays the following:

So I have my TrueNAS system set up all new and fun. I imported the ZFS pool from the old server, with no issue. I can also list and browse the filesystems perfectly fine. My jails can also access the files and use them without any intervention or manual configuration. This leads me to believe the ZFS pool is set up correctly.

HOWEVER

When i try to create a share, I get an error. the error reads as follows:

I recently upgraded from freenas to truenas with clean install not upgrade method as it did not work for me.

I am currently in Shanghai, China. So, is it because of the location it does not fetch any details from the truenas server. I tried to install simple plugin first but it got stuck and 20-50% which showed not able to create jail, and failed to fetch too. Hi,

I've installed a few apps and docker container and this was running fine until I had to shutdown the system (to add a UPS).
And after starting the system back up, none of the container went back online and the Applications Tab says that the "Applications are not running".


Also if I want to have a look the downloaded Docker Images the Interface says, that there aren't any downloaded

I found an option on the misc menu, but that seems to relate to the way FreeBSD used to do it, I think ZFs on Linus is a different method, since Every reboot the system files reset I don't know where I can configure an ARC size limit. A little documentation for the BETA at least would be nice.

I received a notification saying that I have over the recommended number of snapshots (12000+!!!).

I'm not quite sure how or why I would have this many as I don't have any snapshot tasks running at all.

Investigating into the Storage/Snapshots section, it looks like they are all related to ix-applications.

The GUI allows me to see 100 snapshots at a time and bulk delete 100 at a time. But, even when I do this it fails to delete half of the snapshots because they have a dependent clone. It...

I have TrueNAS running on a HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 with
2 x 3TB WD Red (old ones) and 16 GB RAM.
Right after installing and starting the NAS I get 40-50 MB/s read and
write performance. While the system is on the speed drops almost to 0.

System was installed on a Kingston SSD connected via

I want to create a share and dataset with a UTF-8 ( letter ä ) character in it, but it isn't allowed either from the GUI or from the shell. Is there a way around this?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to update my nextcloud version from 23.0.4.1 to 24. I installed Nextcloud as a plugin on a jail now running 12.2 p13 release: i tried to upgrade the nextcloud instance but it returned some errors, do you know if Nextcloud 24 has compatibility issues?
Here in the pic my jail: do you think I should uprade release versione up to the newest?

I'm running a new install of 12.0-U2 and trying to do cloud sync credentials setup for my personal OneDrive account. I do Login to Provider, login to my Microsoft account and it seems to fill in all the necessary fields except Drive ID, a required field, which is left blank.
Can anyone suggest what I need to do?

Hola compañeros...tengo una duda:
Tengo instalado nextcloud en una "jail"...quiero acceder desde el exterior a nextcloud, lo tengo configurado con una ip distinta a Truenas, y no se como instalar el cliente noip en la jail y asi poder acceder desde fuera... http://nombre.ddns.com/nextcloud.

I cannot seem to get POSTINIT scripts to run in TrueNAS-SCALE-21.04-ALPHA.1.

I created a simple PREINIT and POSTINIT commands to create unique files at / and only the one from the PREINIT script seems to be created on boot. Running "midclt call -job initshutdownscript.execute_init_tasks POSTINIT" does run the script and creates the file. Running "systemctl start ix-postinit" does not.

Is this just a bug or am I missing something? I didn't see anything already logged on the JIRA about it...

Hello,

I'm currently running version23 of nextcloud and there is a small update release and it has brought up how should I update. Should I go through the Nextcloud GUI or update from the truenas plugin screen. Is one better than the other or is one more reliable or I shouldn't do one.

Nextcloud was installed through a plug in, In December last year have had no issues since it has started I just like to keep things up to date.

Working through installing Win10 on a VM, however when it comes to the point of selecting the install destination Windows Installer can never find the virtual HDD setup for the VM. The tutorials / videos i've found seem to have it just show up, Windows 11 and linux will find the HDD in the same configuration. In the BIOS of the VM the HDD shows up

I seem to have broken my Kubernetes by deleting snapshots. Explained here: https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/how-to-get-rid-of-12000-snapshots.101048/

So, now I have a new question:

Is there a way to restore Kubernetes functionality? Perhaps by removing all apps and snapshots and starting with a blank slate?

Any way I can change the port number for the graphite reporting? When I migrated from CORE to SCALE (which was a breeze ), I switched from plugin to docker. Docker does not allow ports under a certain range so I cannot use detault port 2003. There is no option to change the port unfortunately...
